The first first pic looks a bit stupid imo. Little amount of seatpost showing and an almost slammed stem

Little amount of seatpost showing and an almost slammed stem
Makes way more sense than a lot of seat post and a huge spacer stack (aka the Surly Syndrome) in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more, reading this while i'm sorting pictures of my Surly in order to put it for sale.

Yeah, more space for a frame bag and I like the handling of the longer reach and wheelbase, unless it's a road race bike. Though I might be biased because I like the look of old french fit randonneur bikes and I have relatively short legs so my bikes are kind of like that in any case.

Kind of like these.

Does Ekar work? Group on sale for £750. Looks prettier than GRX and lightweight (every gram counts for bike transportation).
I haven't used Campagnolo for years, but recently started riding my bike with 10sp Record and it's lovely, despite the age.

That first one looks ridiculous imho but each to their own

It’s called French Fit you absolute heathen

I thought that was how you bike fit non sloping TT bikes. Oopsie never mind.
Oh I’m a 6 ft midget.

That fit looks good judging from a blurry zoomed in picture over the internet. 👍

I agree, nice fit.
That crust is too much imo. Would benefit from a size down

I love my Ekar, I sold the cranks and the rotors and pads however. Went Swiss Stop for the braking and Ratio + EEWing for the cranks.
oh and size down on the ring compared to what you think you need.

• #28619
Do you use the whole range?

• #28620
What made you change the crankset?

For further amusement, here's Jan Heine's bike for Paris-Brest-Paris, fit like they used to be in the 40's
And some random bike by J.P. Weigle

Spacers, slammed posts, stem rise, all of this can be fine if its informed and intentional.
-
• #28623
This looks fine, if you're looking for my approval.

I’m always looking for approval, not that I’m needy or ought.

Yeah it's great. I'd concur with the gearing, I'm using 10-44 cassette and started with 40t and changed to a 38 for loaded offroad.
25mm internal on those
