Was going to make a generic snobby 'have you ever met people?' comment when I realised I bought some premium bonds about 20 years ago based largely on Alan Sugar advertising them. It seems laughable to me now, but I don't know if I'd have done it otherwise. Doubtless could have invested better but probably not the worst thing to have done with the money.

Surely people don't actually buy more stuff because a famous face is being paid to advertise it do they?
