They look great with slacks.

M&S slacks or those nice ones in the catalogue you get in the Sunday Times?

I got a pair of their black slipins shoes following snapping my Achilles, they look reasonably ok but most importantly they do the job. Apparently Jamie Redknapp likes them…

Jesus.
They look like something my physics teacher would have worn. Sorry.
I'll probably have to buy some.

I was thinking something more like these that would be fairly discreet with a suit or business casual.
-
• #9186
How much is he paid to “like” them?
-
• #9187
An awful lot of $$$ I guess, Snoop ‘wears’ them too.
JR has a really annoying ad that seems to be on repeat when I play talksport on Sunday evenings.

I'd really like some 990s, but I'm loathed to spend that much on something so disposable.

They have trainers like that in primark for peanuts. I bought a pair for the gym when I am travelling and they are totally fine.

He's done another wear test and breakdown on Alden Cordovan Indies and it is not pretty. $1000 boots with heels made of cardboard and actually falling apart in 6 months

To play devils advocate, MiUSA NBs last for so much longer than your average trainer. Like so much longer. But for a similar, cheaper vibe, 2002s are a good compromise.

This. They are a bit embarrassing, expensive and make you look like a dad designer.
But they still look ok when others decomposed long ago. -
• #9198
Cheers. But they're still >£120.
Maybe I'm cheap, but I just don't spend that much on clothes anymore. Definitely couldn't spend >£200 on a pair of trainers, having kids rules that out. I'm glad I bought all my leather shoes when I did and glad wfh and trainers to work means I won't have to resole them often.
My NB 311 are 2yrs old now and still look decent on the outside. They're just getting a bit compressed and worn on the inside and stand out more than I'd like.

How long before a pair of Trickers Stow boots become somewhat comfortable?!
I've worn them probably ten times now and I get hot spots and quite a lot of rubbing around the achilles (I get a bit of heel lift) and top of the foot under the lacing. I've experimented with different lacing patterns, having the laces tighter and looser, and different socks, to no avail.
I've seen people saying the socks made by Dr Martens help. Anyone tried these?
Jamie Redknapp likes them & they do slip-ons now so you don't have to bend down to put them on/remove them. What more do you need to know?
