Rolex Trolls Omega With Deal to Buy Home of Arch-Rival's Flagship Store
Lol

I bought my dad a Seiko 5 watch from Amazon which had very poor performance out the box. It loses well over a minute a day. He was being polite about it till a few months ago. It's still within the warranty period.
I contacted service@seiko.co.uk some time ago and got no reply. I will try phoning again tomorrow, but is there something else I should be doing to get this thing to be serviced/repaired under the 2 year warranty?

Ask Amazon for a new one?
-
• #74755
Yes email Amazon and get them to replace it. You warrenty is with the seller not manufacturer. Amazon are generally very good at dealing with issues.

If you have easy access to a degausser/demagnetiser, it might be worth a try, but honestly I’d do as suggested above and have Amazon deal with it.

Thanks for answering my mundane question! Amazon have offered to refund after nearly 2 years which is amazing, but they wont replace it which means I have to buy a new one and it's nearly £100 more everywhere now for the same SRPD51 in blue.
I might offer to get him one of the new SKX GMTs instead for a little more than the £100 more for an SRPD.

Only £1500 and no X logo?? Wow
-
• #74761
I know it seems much, but it's quite a unique Seiko and quite faithful to the original.

Anyone knows where I can get pin-and-collar ... pins?
-
• #74763
I'd definitely pay extra not to have that X logo.

Anyone interested in a 1970s Seiko 2205-0769 /0760 Diver aka “Mini Apocalypse”. I found a recently (and carefully *) serviced one in Notts for a reasonable price but, much to my disappointment, my other half doesn’t get how awesome this mini diver is. Anyone interested before I return it? It would be nice if someone in the forum gets to enjoy it, £375 posted. Currently in East London.
- disassembled, cleaned and regulated. All gaskets replaced and pressure tested to 150m
*works well and lume is still going

Always liked that reference. Shame i'm such a constant state of broke-ness.

Well, I need to sell something now

Any interest in one or more of these watches?
They're not all on sale though, but open to sell a couple, particularly the Seiko's to help recover from the above.
The black and the solar diver with the green dial one are 140th limited editions.
The Baltic and the Tissot are not on sale as they are gifts.

They're great little watches, those.

Have they got applied markers?
@frankohara I’m a little bit tempted, can I have the serial number please!
-
• #74772
No, it's an applied logo but the markers use the standard Seiko diver method of stamping the dial to emboss them and then machining the tops flat. But they are done in the "sharp" way, like the 6159-7000 hi-beat diver. The hands are the same design as the 6159 too.

@inchpincher the bezel rotates and alignment seems good. This is the side of the case. Let me know, as I might have to return it soon otherwise

Still wrapped in plastic
Great size. Looks smaller than it wears

Well, thick and heavy, but that's what it is - so I'm quite far from complaining about it. My thoughts of getting it on a strap have disappeared for now.
