Never grabbed a screenshot of the little ones but you can filter recent chunks, ie.
"You've collected 1787 new squadratinhos during the last 7 days."

Grow your yard? Fewer blocks, still need to go out and bag squares either side of routes you have ridden that are one square thick to join clusters etc.
