I hate these - specifically this make & model, with a vengeance.
Even though I'm on my 3rd one.
The design just had too many wrong things.

I'm staying out of the garlic chat. My standpoint makes DJ look reasonable.

Fuck me, the forum must be on its deathbed when people are agreeing with me.

If only you had a volume knob, dear. 😚

This place gets worse with the return of old timers like you and Lynx.

You okay, babes?

Am all good, just thought you’d enjoy being compared to Raf. 🤣

You'll have to do better than that, sweetie. 😋

You about to post about the joys of cbd again? Isn’t repeating yourself part of dementia?

recently binned ours in favour of 1x nutribullet and 1x large blender....

CBD oil is great.

I agree!
I also kinda hate the model, it’s a pain to clean, it’s got a shit locking mechanism and the blade spindle is fiddly.
Mine refuses to break though. When it has an accident, I’ll replace with this type:

Mine refuses to break though.
Mine broke (twice), but I refused to pay for a new one, and had it replaced.
Current one broke, but I could repair it with parts from the old one.
Although I do have to use a chopstick jabbed into it to make it start.
I can't wait to accidentally drop it and jump on it.
Ohmyfuckinggod the locking mechanism.
That ninja thing looks interesting.

You can’t make shit mayonnaise with it, but the top is fairly well sealed, and you just push down on the top to chop stuff.
Motor unit doesn’t get covered in shit, and the tip to get it to chop better is to pick it up and shake it occasionally.Which I have tried on the Kenwood chopper, but you have to hold your thumb above the oil hole.

Garlic wise, if you can taste the difference between slightly crushed and bashed and fresh old well stored or badly stored garlic.

• #5492
Is that a hand operated or powered?
-
• #5493
Have you tried garlic grated with a zester then add that to the oil and shake.
Try and collect the liquid that comes out.
How about smoked garlic?

Ninja thing is ok. We have one. For smaller quantities, everything gets stuck to the walls and requires smacking to get it back into the blades. I limit use to "when I need to make enough of something for more than 3 people." Otherwise, it's in the cupboard and I favour ye olde mortar and pestle instead.
Mayo is a stick blender thing anyway.

Trufax.
It's one if two things I use one for - marinara sauce being the other.
The side sticking thing is the bane of all mini choppers, I think.
But easily worth not having to break out a pestle and mortar for making a paste* from chilli's and garlic (that's right, folks - for mushing garlic into an homogenous gloopy paste). Besides I have all the tiny silicone spatulas for this.
I think the ninja thing can go on my Christmas list in that case, as unfortunately, I broke my kenwood one tomorrow.
* fine - I actually call it a masala...

What about those silicone tube garlic peeler things?

Is there a forum approved stick blender with small pot on the end?
For things like curry pastes when I cba to pestle/mortar, a proper processor is too big and not enough volume for a stick blender not to splat everywhere.
Something like this could serve double duty? Generally averse to more e-waste/plastic in the kitchen..

I think even @RonAsheton would agree with me on this
(They first turned me on to the Bamix)
Indeed, does Joe want to whine loudly or quietly, or make an effort to make a sweeter more rounded noise (quietly or loudly).
