When turning on like a fine turntable, very delicate, filigree, from a haptic point of view; but then – it is so loud, very loud. I would never recommend a dynamo like this in favor of a hub dynamo. Maybe for super lightweight builds. I made a video today, first time using the dynamo, the last part is without dynamo for comparison:

Thanks for the nice words @JonasGeitus @hvsds @PhilDAS @Maj @si_mon628

lovely build, but yeah, that dynamo noise would drive me nuts.
also, i imagine it wouldn't be great if you had to cycle through any mud? -

also for true functional, needs some flaps

So sick. Too nice for commuting in October!

That’s definitely missing, searching for some material - and they must go all the way down

I've used Velogical dynamos a lot and it's never made that high-pitched 'whine'. An audible whirring but never something that 'sharp'. Can I suggest you fiddle with how hard it's running against the rim? I will admit they are a total pain the fit but do work well (though not quite as well as a hub!) once running nicely.

i've been considering making a front flap extension for my front guard as i get some splash from the wheel onto the underside of the rack.
is that even a thing? 4th flap? (taking into account the 3rd BB flap) -
• #61
Looks awesome! What mudguards do you have on it?
-
• #62
Definitely will do so, like that only the rim is as softly as possible kissed from the dynamo.
I edited the video title & update or change the video with the final ,sound’ (so far only 6 people clicked on the video and no company name added not to discredit someone because of my wrong installation).

Ah I understand – these are the @rotomonni Berthoud Cycles 60mm fenders in ,front short’ version. I don’t remember what the reason was for getting the short instead the long one (on the cargo bike I have the front long fender, and added additional struts so that the fender doesn’t wobble so much).

So far it shifts good, maybe I'll shorten the cable a little bit:

I am wondering since there's no brake shuddering or so at all, I had these brakes on a cyclocross mounted with a carbon fork and only mounting the cable stop at the fork helped. Apart from that with this 'Paul Moon Unit' I think really easy to mount and install

Here are some more pictures – I don't know how to post pictures in a post here without hosting somewhere else and embedding with the 'Image' option?

Looks like you are somewhere dryish, but will you add flaps to the mudguards? Said it before, but this is a great looking bike.

Definitely, had no time so far - and with flaps it will also look better. Not so rainy here in Vienna though, that’s correct!

Brilliant build, love the moth-bars with that Nitto stem. Hopefully fatherhood is treating you well also.

I was literally thinking to ask the same question, as I already have tires and fenders but I'm still waiting for the rest of the bike 😬

I use GBs on Marin and Bluemels on the Trek - both 60mm fenders with DTH 2.3 and it fits without any problems - but rims are 17-19mm so tyre doesn't measure for 2.3" 🤷

Super nice bike. Jealous of the mudguard fit, I'm struggling a bit with mine.

So clean. Favourite forum build at the moment

Such a beautiful build, everything is top notch! Serious bike envy.
the background location for that photo is absolutely top notch!
