Hi, apologies I forgot to check back in.
I was hoping for more gravel, less mud ideally. I’ve found this route which I’m planning for tomorrow -
Any of it familiar?
And nice to meet another Stroudy. Only been here a year, but was born not too far away

Some of it, but only the road sections and the towpath. So no real insight for you. There's tonnes of fun to be had in the FoD and also more locally with fosse way and other byway/commons link ups. I'm super time stretched with kids and work these days, but I'll send over some local routes when I have a minute. Maybe even a ride if things change!

Yep, I’ve done a decent amount of exploring locally so am familiar with some of our fantastic off road options. Good shout on the FOD too.
Maybe even a ride if things change!
Hit me up anytime, mine are big now so I’m finally able to do what I like!

On the market for winter gravel shoes, warm, easy to walk on type. Was looking at Shimano XM9, SH-MW501 or similar type. Not too bothered by max waterproofing as not intending to ride in heavy rain anyway, but would want them to be useful for temperatures at 0 C and below. Any recommendations?

NorthWave has pretty decent range of winter shoes. I wear an older model (Raptor? Something silly like that) when it's near/below freezing - much more comfortable than regular vented mtb shoes. They use non-Boa dials but haven't had any trouble with them.

I ride in my normal shoes but with think or even waterproof socks.

I liked the Northwaves but I had problems with one of the non-boas always coming loose.
Whatever you choose the important thing it's having it roomy enough to use thick shocks -

Kind of regret sending my Tripster to Poland. The 9spd mechanical, rim-braked CX bike (currently with road tyres) isn't quite as much fun. Now trawling ebay for used grav grav bargainz
6k for a used Crux...

Can't see myself getting rid of my tripster anytime soon, perfect do it all bike. If only paint wouldn't chip so easily!

The trick I used for that is to almost completely cover it in electrical tape :D
Wish they had internal dynamo cable routing and didn't have the yoke stay so Di2 was nicer to the RD.
Also, the frames are £900 now compared to £700 when I got my first one.

What about a £3.5k carbon Niner w/ Di2?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296001076095Or £4800 for a Di2 Mason Exposure:

There's a new Tripster frame in my size on ebay for £650.
I've got some parts but I'd still need 700C wheelset and Di2 groupset for it.

Yeah standard Xplr 10-44, tempted to go bigger just for the iridescent cassette haha
