There is no such thing as effective whitening toothpaste, just stain removal.
Common whitening is 10% carbamide peroxide in a whitening tray overnight for two weeks. Been using it since the 80's
Good consistent results and the bang per buck bit is that the effect lasts for years. The result of low concentration over a long time is long lasting result. Higher concentration whitens quicker but also more rebound to the original colour.
I use opalescence by optident but other systems are available, some which use hydrogen peroxide which gives similar results and the tray can be worn only 2 hours a day.
There are loads and loads of arguments about the best way to whiten teeth. I wonder if colgate are still making whitening strops, not checked for years. They are not bad at just refreshing the six upper front teeth.

Get them cleaned by the hygienist at the dentist first. It’ll more-permanently remove most of the yellowing and staining up near the gum line which is built up in tartar. You’ll be surprised how much will have built up and what a difference it makes after a scale and polish. Then just use one of those kits from Boots. The iwhite one works well.
I wouldn’t mess around with hydrogen peroxide in a homebrew to be honest. I tried it once by using contact lens solution (around 6% concentration) in a retainer and it ended up bleaching and burning my gums as well. I don’t know how much they put in whitening gel but it can’t be much.

Before we got married my wife and I both had our teeth whitened (there were going to be a lot of smiling photos). It was about £350 each if memory serves. She had hers done in a couple of visits with a fancy light (laser? UV?) and I opted for a couple of weeks overnight in custom-fit whitening trays.
I found them bloody annoying, with unbelievable saliva build-up, so would go the quick method next time, but the results have lasted for 6 years now. As has the marriage. -

If you have sensitive teeth just live with English looking teeth, unless you want hypersensitive teeth obviously. Spend the money on bikes.

That's what i'm talking about.
Thanks all.

Ha, fair. It was more in case of whether someone was manufacturing a replaceable hangar to be used with the existing one.
Re: the skewers, they'll be replaced by pitlock skewers soon anyways (in a vain attempt to reduce nickability).

Can anyone recommend a set of Bluetooth speakers for the kitchen. They need enough volume for teenage parties so maybe 40w, mains powered, £150?

I have a little Google home speaker and that thing goes loud. It's not Bluetooth but connects on your WiFi and you control it through Spotify. Really impressive sound from such a little thing and voice control means it's easy for anyone to play what they want

A lot of people I know are happy with these JBL pills -https://amzn.eu/d/7RUAITw
Also those Marshalls are great - https://amzn.eu/d/6466ll2

Would definitely recommend wi-fi rather than bluetooth. I use a couple of Libratone speakers that do bluetooth or wifi and they're battery powered so they work in the garden in the summer.
Otherwise the JBL Flip get a lot of praise.

Just looked up the roaming fees for a holiday we are going on in a few weeks and they are horrendous.
Has anyone any experience of using eSims? My phone can support one, and providers to avoid?

Depends on where you’re going.

I've used Airalo successfully. It used to require a second device to actually scan the QR code to install the eSIM but I think they have resolved that now.
https://ref.airalo.com/nT3s with DAVID5196 might get us both $3 of credit.

No it is not. You can still buy peroxide in 10vols online.
You can also buy cream peroxide from places like Paks easily, even have a liter bottle as I'm deciding to give myself highlights
What's the best bang method for buck teeth whitening?
Google says this - Hydrogen peroxide is a mild bleach that can help to whiten stained teeth . For optimal whitening, a person can try brushing with a mix of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide for 1–2 minutes twice a day for a week. They should only do this occasionally.
Sounds reasonable, guess you'd want to be careful to make the correct combination.
