  • This is quite nice for a modern watch.

  • I know there are better-regarded Seiko models out there, but I really like the look of the Type II below.

Any reason I shouldn't go for this over a more expensive King Quartz/Grand Quartz?

  • No, cheap Seiko quartz from that era have a great feel to them IME.

  • I've dived into a grand quartz rabbit hole of late - currently considering this :

  • It's a lovely dial , but the bezel is not for me . I seem to gravitate more and more to conservatively designed watches (some might say boring )

  • Happy Friday!

This one is still for sale, down to £1,200 with papers.

  • You like what you like - all good

  • Really nice.

  • Happy Friday, from the harsh industrial lighting in IKEA.

  • @tbc Case is a bit dinged up and it must have had a polish at some point, though the case lines still look to be pretty sharp. It'd probably scratch my Grand Seiko 9f itch for a bit...

  • Max Bill handwound for me today

  • Cheers!

I keep thinking about selling it on, then I wear it for one last hurrah, and decide to keep it.

I'm middle aged enough to wear two tone without irony and get away with it.

  • Poké Friday!

Is a 38 mm diver an oxymoron? I don’t have large hands, but the small size looks a bit jarring even on me.
Did I really pay that much for a utilitarian watch without a date window?

    Pros
Love the cartoon like simplicity of the watch face.
All lettering in the same font. (No lettering at all would be even cooler).
Titanium is lovely. Love the sheen. This is brushed, shame I missed out on the sandblasted version.
Weighs fuck all so feels comfy even when I've adjusted it to be slightly loose. No noticeable rattling on my wrist.

  • I have the grey face version of this and I love it. But if that one had been available when I got it I would’ve got that one! I wanr to replace the bezel insert with the version you have instead of the black one

  • I also have the 42mm in bronze. The 38 is perfect!

  • The 38 is perfect!

    Ta.

  • Lume shot

It's not that impressive to be honest. The whole thing lights up yes, but the hands are stamped through so only provide a faint contrast against the watch face. I find myself fishing for the phone on my nightstand just to make sure.

  • I don't think that looks small at all, looks ideal
