  • That’s the one my neighbour went with to replace his bike with Swytch that was stolen, though I believe he also picked up the bigger battery.

  • Yes, it seems to basically be a reconfigured and cheaper version of the v1 kit.

  • Hear me out:

Electric front wheel that you can swap your previous wheel out for in 2mins
cabled throttle that can be connected disconnected in seconds as you wish.
    limited to 15.5mph.
    100mile range
    £300

    Does this sound likely?

  • Illegal, and I think you’d have trouble finding half decent motor and battery for 300

  • Sorry - I didn't mention the pedal sensor. (Was that the illegal bit?)

Someone I know has apparently got links to a company promising the above. I was dubious but am not massively clued up.

  • Cabled throttle will be the contentious part

  • Sorry - I didn't mention the pedal sensor. (Was that the illegal bit?)

    YES

  • Ah gotcha! I have not stake in this but it seemed a very low price for an apparently market-disrupting product so I thouht I'd ask here

  • Any idea what the company is?

  • Everyone thinks they are “market disrupting” until the market replies with the sound of a wet fart

  • Seems dubious. I'd be wondering about the battery pack that is getting 100 mile range but is still that cheap.

  • Nope. I don't want to get too involved because it's not really my business

  • Exactly why I'd rather not get too involved.

  • Can't remember who posted the link, but thanks.. picked up a bafang rear wheel 48v 750w for £31.50 from John Pye auction.

Just got delivered.. will post when I get a controller and see if it actually works!

  • Not sure if anyone here can give advice but I bought a full bosch drive system off a crashed mtb (minus battery) i was wanting to retrofit it onto my cargo bike but need to change wheelsize from 29 to 20. it has an intuvia display and i cant figure out how to change the circumference. Or if its even possible.

  • It’s not possible, need factory / admin access - even bike shops can’t change it.

There might be other workarounds but not sure what they might be

  • That is dumb and frustrating. Well i guess i flip it or buy a cheap frame

  • anyone got any experience with an orbea katu-e ? looks like a fun city bike for cutting about and shopping but also looks like they’ve not updated the spec for a few years…

  • There’s a thread in current projects about one and also another few owners on here if you search comments. All seems pretty positive.

We just bought one as they are reduced on Westbrook cycles - will update you when it turns up.

  • nice one, thank you. will be following along with interest.

  • Buy at own risk with the wiggle situation, etc. but this is the model up from my partners, seems a lot of bike with Steps E6100 for £1,599 https://www.wiggle.com/p/vitus-e-mach-3-electric-hybrid-bike

  • Pay on credit card there's no risk, if the order isn't fulfilled the payment will be refunded else s.75 kicks in and you can claim under non-delivery.

  • love this mad lad

  • That looks fun.

  • Apologies for crossposting with the cargo bike thread, but looking for opinions on regreasing a Bafang mid motor drive.

At Mass, all the roadmen on ebikes were asking me if I'd regreased mine. Said I should be doing it once a year. One of them is particularly handy with taking them apart.

A quick googling seems to back this up. Has anyone here done a regreasing?
