Any other suggestions for sash windows which won’t break the bank gratefully received.

@chrisbmx116 it’s not one window, it’s 7x… if we’re replacing the failed bay we’d obvs replace the lot at the front of the house, so the cost stacks up…

We got Everest uPVC sash windows, all about 6' tall and 3' wide, came in around £1k per window.

Stupid question but when they ripped out the old one to put in the new one I'm assuming there's making good to be done. Is it typically some plastering and decorating inside or is it on the outside?

Colin's are quoting ~£400 per window, in custom RAL colour, double glazed...
