@chrisbmx116 it’s not one window, it’s 7x… if we’re replacing the failed bay we’d obvs replace the lot at the front of the house, so the cost stacks up…

We're possibly mad, but I'm replacing the rotten bits of sash frame by hand and then will be sourcing 8.3mm vacuum-filled glazing for the whole house for £8k: 1 bay window and 8 additional sash windows, supply only.
We're hoping to have the appearance of traditional wooden sash and the performance of modern triple glazed units for about £10k all-in.
I have the details of a polish company who apparently make very high quality sash windows at a considerable discount to those you would buy from the UK.
I have not ordered from them myself yet but I know someone who has. They live in a 1.3m house and their standards are probably higher than mine so I'd imagine the quality will be OK.
