It's bloody expensive to do - we ended up going for two sets of 8 matching tableware which we use for when guests come and then we have other plates/bowls which we use most days which we have 2-6 of.
@dubtap I'm not sure if it's tougher but as it's not seasonal, it is easily replaceable. We have some plates from there which replaced the previous Ikea jobbies and they're some of the ones we use most often

All our glassware is from TK (Riedel ftw) but I think I’d want all the crockery matchy matchy… not sure we’d find twelve plates, bowls etc in the same line. In fact you’ve just reminded me of hunting in multiple stores for noodle bowls to get eight the same!
