Does anyone have a tip for a affordable narrow wide chainring for a r7000 (105) crankset? Will a GRX work? Thanks

It won’t. The bolt pattern is different

You don't want actual brakes too for zee Berliner polizei? I speak from experience.

Trail AliExpress. They will surely have something

Some examples.
You'll possibly want the caps as well when mounted on the inside.
Mind you, garbaruk is only twice as expensive. At that ratio I'ld err towards that.

Although ditching the crankset altogether and getting something fit for direct mount could also be a possibility.
Ali does these Ingrid knockoffs for 24mm axle. They look good for the price.
Attached some examples from my wishlist

yes, it will get at least a front brake. not just the brake hoods, that sounded a bit misleading

Someone posted a picture of the knock off cranks on here recently completely snapped in half after apparently a couple of months of gentle riding

Yeah, you wouldn’t want a crank failure. People should go with a trusted brand like shimano.

Admirable snark 🙂

This weekend I have mostly been tinkering with Eddy's.
Team Panasonic with new cassette, chain, 28c tyres, Swiss Stop brake pads, brake and gear cables and bar tape. The sparkly blue and all that chrome looking good in the afternoon sun.
And for the Domo Farm Frites MX Leader, the wheels I've taken from another of my bikes, as they look better with this. Campag Chorus hubs and Ambrosio Focus rims, with new 28c tyres. Also new ultra-torque Chorus crank, Chorus shifters, chain, cassette, gear and brake cables, new Cinelli XA stem and 3t Competizione handlebars, and have changed the saddle and bar tape from yellow in its previous incarnation, to black, so new saddle and tape to finish.

I decided to use 105 dropbar levers, according to the Shimano website all these brakes are for flat bar levers?

Shimano are very conservative, we have these brakes with Campag ergo power levers and they're fine.

Upgraded cockpit with Controltech stem, Ergotech sweepies, Tektro brake levers. Chucked a Flite on it and changed front brake to match rear. Thinking about turning down an old 26.9mm Thomson Elite 0deg to 26 mm but I need to find someone local that owns a lathe.
Tracks like a train.

What could possibly go wrong with reducing the wall thickness of something designed to be as light as possible by 25%?

Yeah, you might be right. Not worth the trip to the emergency room.
new little project: i want to build a road fixed for my commute. basis is this colossi / goldsprint frame. I still need some brake hoods and an actual road bar, the cockpit is way too narrow for now. this was just for the first test ride setup.
