When freelancing with an agency notorious for stringing along invoice payments I charged double my day rate, but gave a 50% discount if the invoice was paid within 30 days. A quick call to the HR person after 21 days and surprisingly my invoice got paid the next day.

As a non computery person, what settings am I looking at to get rid of these 'gradients' on sky / lighting sections when playing my Xbox on moniter?
Apologies for the poor photo, but think you can see them.
It's a 4k, hdmi 2.0 monitor with HDR10 if that helps?
Don't get them on anything work / video related, only on games.

Because you can't, you don't know, or you're just being flippant?

Unlikely to be a setting. If it was a PC game then maybe there’d be graphics settings, but if Xbox then the performance tends to be known so no point having low or high settings. It won’t be the monitor.
What game is it? -

It's the new assasons creed, but I get it on CP2077 as well, mostly around light sources.

Have a look at this article at the section

Have you tried turning off HDR? The game gives that option.
Both my PC hardware and my smart TV support HDR but I never bother with it. There are so many versions of the HDR standard and often very poor compatibility between what the software and the hardware think are the right one.

I haven't, I'll try that, and a read through of the article above!
Edit - the y:2:2 thing on that article has made it 1000 times better! Thanks!

ha!

I mean this in the best possible way, but if they agreed to your double day rate, why on earth did you remind them to pay you less? Or would it have been the case that they agreed to the high day rate in the knowledge that they would never actually pay it?

My wing mirror looks like this and has done for 4 years or so, we used to regularly get them kicked off so I never bothered to get it properly repaired. The electric, mirror-angling part works fine, but my wife is now complaining how much of our car is held together with gaffer tape. Is there some sort of transparent heat shrinking wrap which would do a similar/better job and look less bad. This stuff, perhaps? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361275492238?

I'm not sure a different colour of tape is quite what she had in mind

Sugur might work?

Enough of that stuff would cost more than a new wing mirror!

Have you looked for a replacement on eBay or your local breakers?
It's usually only a couple of bolts - Easy if you've ever worked on a bike.

I need a desk lamp. that doesn't look ugly as my desk is in the living room.
A ring light might be good as well. preferably one that sits on a monitor. -

I could but it's got electrics going into it so I'm not that confident. Maybe some YouTube/ebay action is required.

I don't think you want one that sits on a monitor.
The best thing is to browse John Lewis and Wayfair for something you like the look of and then buy the correct blub for the area.
I have a lamp with 8.5w 2700k blub and I find it a good balance. It could probably be a bit cooler, but it's also in our bedroom so it seems like a reasonable compromise. Plus I don't particularly like cool light but Ymmv.

Anyone here claimed on contents insurance due to theft?
Has anyone got a recommendation for a men + van company - I need to move a fridge from N5 to SW14?
