That first pic made me think "that's a really weird intercom, what thread am I reading?"

Really

Got hooked on Obra Dinn again. Trying to keep it to 3 fate bursts.

Questioning, as it just looks like an arcade game controller.

So I have bought a second hand PS4 with a few games still on there. So far have played:
-Super meat boy so supposed to be hard and annoying. First two screens in and am annoyed.
-The walking dead seems like short bits of action with film in between.
-Everyone is gone to the rapture seems fun and a wandering around game. -

If it is the TellTale Games TWD, all their games are essentially interactive comics with a dash of choose your own adventure.

Ah thank you.Just feels like work, with little dopamine release. Or a bit like the TV series walking dead when I stopped watching as I
Think I have the batman game, unravel and fighting fantasy 8 remake.

It doesn't just look like that, the first picture does also look quite a bit like a flat/office intercom, due to its orientation. What you see is often conditioned by what you expect and even if somebody knows about fight sticks (which are a bit of a niche thing in gaming), switch tabs and switch back again and maybe get a surprise.

It was a very fleeting thought as I first saw it, because it looks a bit like one in that orientation.

Wow how strange is this,(three year post reply) wierd co incidence, I was wondering if there is any advice about cleaning a ps4 out and should I redo the thermal paste.
@DethBeard did you do the clean and re paste.

Just chatting, looks like something EEI (does he still log in? He is on Facebook) made for his pi arcade machine.
Also think I have looked at too many interphone catalogues...
Also does it matter that we saw different things ..rorschact tests sort of live of this difference. So long as no one saw their parents fighting.

Anyone purchased Observation? Opinions?
Played it this w/e and, because it made such an impression, thought I'd look back to see if anybody else had played it. Not obvious from your question whether you were asking because you were contemplating buying it or because you were trying to make up your mind about it after finishing.
The gameplay is - if you like this kind of mystery and puzzle solving game - very well crafted. It isn't an entirely unique idea (The Turing Test did something similar) but I've not seen a game of this kind that does it better. They also paid a lot of attention to game state and the impact of doing things in different sequences; if you were thinking ahead (or just exploring) and solved problems for the crew in advance, they're appreciative but if you're not thinking fast or you're struggling with working out a game mechanic, they get shirty and sometimes find their own solutions.
Bonus points for being about as non-hand-holding as possible, which only adds to the tension. On the other hand, a few too many of the challenges end up being "Copy this from here to there". But if they'd made those as difficult as I'd like on top of everything else, I don't think many people would play the game.
The ending and final reveals are... eh. Bit of a shame, I thought. Not terrible, but didn't meet the promise of the build up. The story telling up to that point was excellent, though, so I enjoyed the journey more than enough not to mind so much about the final destination not living up to the promises of the brochure. But the interwebs are probably full of people saying "What did I just play?"
I can't remember who on here said that they didn't like Talos Principle because it seemed to expect them to do all the work themselves. If you're still on here, don't play this game.

Nah, ended up getting a PS5 and archiving the 4

Made my peace with Odyssey and Valhalla in time for AC Mirage (and before reaching retirement age, surprisingly). There are things to like in those two games, even if Odyssey probably should have just been released as a standalone game.
Never mind, Mirage downloading now. Stealthy stabby times ahead. When not jumping off minarets and missing the piles of hay.

I hope it's good. not ordered yet, but will probably get it on PS5

I'm due a clean and repaste on the ps4 for erm, some years now 😅

I've started playing CP2077 since the expansion came out. I started a new game though, so not got to it yet.
Holy moly though, it's like a different game. Everything is so smooth now, and easier to understand.

Likewise.
I particularly enjoy the ease of respeccing - particularly as I'm trying a new build - in your face stabby slash before you can blink, rather than kill everything instantly from outside by melting brains.
I have the DLC, but will try and finish up the 2.0 vanilla first.

Doesn't the loud fan nldrone annoy you? Or cause a distraction?
-
• #28473
I hope it's good
So far, a love letter to the original game only with better graphics and a distinct lack of whole armies queing up to be button-mashed to death one at a time.

• #28474
a love letter to the original game
Is that good or bad?
-
• #28475
If you like the original ideas behind the game, yes. Made much more accessible by less eccentric mechanics and more variety in the gameplay (outside the regular mission template, all the original game had was "Collect a couple of hundred flags for no good reason").
Also nice to see a return to good historical research, after Valhalla where they gave some intern a box set of "Vikings" and access to Wikipedia.
Just leave this here.
