Great, I'll charge it up and forget about it then! Thanks everyone

Anyone done a DIY sprint shifter for AXS? I found someone selling them on eBay but can't find them since. Am up for soldering if I can work out what connector the shifters use.

I know someone who has used these - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002816546341.html

Thanks - the top comment on that got me pondering the DIY route myself.

Shimano max capacity is always bit strange
It's not strange, it's just that the spec is for what works great with any in-spec set up, and you can push it a bit if you're happy with second best
M9050 does 46T max according to spec and plenty of people have squozen an extra 4T (8mm more roller PCD) from Shimano RDs. The 41T total capacity is sufficient.

Thanks, makes sense.

I did it for release one of etap. Once I’d got the correct connector size to plug into the shifter it was a piece of cake. I tried little button switches and membrane switches with ribbon cable. Both worked great but were a little dodgy on one ride when the rain was torrential. I did put photos up on this thread. No idea how to find them now but I’ll have a go and link if I find them.
Edit - here is the item, it’s actually related to my di2 but it is the same as my etap hack

I have a stupid plan
Aw yiss.
Nitto for shred silver risers? ;)

I need a di2 wire, 11 speed, 60cm ish. No shorter. Anyone got a spare to sell/post to me?
-
• #5862
I have a full 6770 Di2 groupset at the moment (bought here a long time ago!). Would changing the junction box from SM-EW67A-E to a EW90 3-Port junction allow me to charge the (external) battery using usb without removing it from the bike? Would I just need the junction and two wires to go to the brake levers. I assume I'll need to update the firmware as well? Have I missed anything?

The compatibility chart should have all the answers, looks like it works.

Ah great, thank you

I assume I'll need to update the firmware as well?
Possibly, it'll depend what version each component is using and whether they are compatible. It's dead easy do if you have a PC running Windows.
-
• #5866
But if it all works together already, you won't gain anything by doing updates
-
• #5867
I've never had it updated. Would I not get that multi-gear change thing where you can hold the lever down for 3 / 4 shifts at once, or does that not work on 6770?
-
• #5868
I don't know if that works on 6770. I have it on my R8070 but tbh never use it anyway. If I hold the button it will shift all the way through the cassette

Nice one, thanks. Maybe not worth the hassle for just a slightly easier way of charging the battery

Is shimano Di2 12 speed backward compatible? Was thinking of taking off my Dura Ace mechs/ chainset for autumn/spring and replacing with something i don’t give a fuck about

No don't think so.

• #5872
The only 11-speed di2 parts that’ll work with 12-speed Di2 are some TT/tri shifters and SW-R9150.
-
• #5873
Any thoughts as to why my new 12 speed battery loses 5-10% charge per day when not in use?
-
• #5874
Sorry, wasn't clear. Could I put Ultegra/ 105 12 speed parts on my 12 speed Di2
-
• #5875
I did this with 11s Di2 stuff. Mixed and matched a lot. Don't see why it wouldn't work with 12s. They sell bikes with different series 12s parts right?
We talked about this before, with numbers:
