These hunting knives from Blenheim Forge in Peckham are really nice.

Good luck!
i burned through a lot of files and abrasives and I only made a parking knife.

You must be a grumpy git if you have a specific knife for parking issues.

Ha. Paring and autocorrect.

Thanks, using a farriers rasp, it’s 5cm wide and 4.4mm thick, so got a lots of grinding to do…
I’m not annealing or heat treating it, which I will probably regret after many hours of grinding and sanding.

Is it a locking blade?
-
• #5336
Nope. It’s about two inches worth of folding non locking. It’s practically just the handle of a Style CS. Mega tiny scissors, tweezers, knife.
-
• #5337
Deffo non locking.

In the end, I visited Tsubaya in Kappabashi and went full over budget for a ZDP-189 knife. Then went back a week later to Kamata and bought another veggie knife and two whetstones. Zero regrets!
Also brought a VG-10 bunka with an oak handle for a friend of mine.

Awesome stuff! Some great shops with lots of lovely bits on display - yen still looks good value against the £ (or €) too

Sore wa kaakoii desu! I'm curious how the ZDP-189 feels on the wetstone.

Do you still have this for sale? My keychain tiny knife got confiscated by security at a gig recently and this looks like a decent replacement.

Just found this at the bottom of a crate in our workshop. Brass fittings are a bit corroded but otherwise looks in good nick. Blade doesn’t lock but springs very firmly into position.
I don’t know anything about knives like this, likely to be real? Worth anything? Happy to pass it on to someone who’ll make use of it if it’s of interest.

Looks like a legit one to me. Similar levels of detail to mine.
Technically I think Laguiole, is just a style from that region rather than a registered TM.
No idea what a 2nd hand one is worth. But a new one isn't cheap.

Assuming the 440 stamp refers to the steel I don't think it's anything particularly special?
-
• #5346
Well if anyone wants it in return for a forum/charity donation then send a dm.
Assuming of course you’re not some stabby git..
I have no use for it. -

Looks like a cheaper copy of them. Definitely not from one of the expensive knifemakers. No maker’s stamp on the blade, and the handle is missing the shepherd’s cross.
All the same, nice for someone

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking and why I asked, it’s nice enough but doesn’t feel like the quality of fit and finish of something really nice.

This is mine, for reference

Mine.
A gift from my godfather when I was younger.
It lives in France and sadly rarely gets used. Quite heavy, wants to sit horizontally in a pocket, savage snap mechanism and sharp af.

Sarnau army stores as I was passing by.
It passes the receipt slice test, not razoring hair sharp but defo more than £4 sharp.
