Maybe because not enough people they knew shared the downsides of parenting? The people that are complaining now are providing a service to those considering forking.

I am not denying anyone’s right to have children which is what you accused me of. However people who continually complain about the impact their children have on themselves possibly hadn’t considered fully the implications.
It was a facetious/incendiary comparison that I made and am sorry if anyone has taken great offence. I am just recalling a recent festival I went to. There was one friend there with his two kids, his daughter just wanted to ride on the ferris wheel and wasn’t so interested in the music aspect. My friend took great delight in spending a huge amount on fun fair rides and candyfloss because that was what his daughter wanted and was giving her joy. There was another family where the two parents were squabbling about who was looking after the kids at what time and even complaining their children’s demands were “fucking with my vibe”.
