I don't regularly frequent this thread, but I'm selling a near-new Boss TU-3 and a used Hercules stage stand- drop me a PM if interested and I can send photos and provide more details.

If you’ve got a few hours to kill then Noel Gallagher has done a couple of killer YouTube interviews on GibsonTV and That Pedal Show. The latter is the longer and the better (imho).

Loved the Gibson TV thing, can't watch those Pedal Show clowns anymore tho'! 👋🤡👎

I find them difficult to watch too. But it nearly all NG taking so worth a go imho.

Fucking hell that lad can chat! Comes across as a very likeable fella, I do love his attitude. I must dig out all the early Oasis CD singles sometime, there are some cracking bonus tracks on those things.

Arrived today and first impressions are that's a lot of guitar for £130. Annoying scratch in the scratchplate and a teensy bit of fret sprout on around four frets on the underside of the neck, but other than that, it's pristine. Action a bit high currently, so I'll need to lower it a bit and sort out the intonation, etc. Haven't put it through an amp yet, but the unplugged tone sounds pretty good, so high hopes. Will report back, but already it feels better than the Squier Classic Vibe Tele I tried out last year.

Saw Deerhoof again last week. Amazing as always. Came across the video of Ed and went down a bit of a rabbit hole. https://youtu.be/Ax44-Ebve3c?si=xRLZ0XSoV-GCLtIg

Even Lori loves Uncle Larry, she doesn't complain when I stick him on the goggle box. She also enjoyed Adrian on ACPG today, but we do play Serge in this house an AWFUL lot. He is just spot on, playing The Pyramids in a Cramps t-shirt was *chef's kiss*!

It is. In fact, it's more than all right. Lowered the action, sorted the intonation (didn't have to do much, tbh) and gave it a run out through the amp. Cleans sound great, it has that signature Tele twang on the bridge pick-up, neck PU is OK without being amazing, between the two sounds really nice. Through the OD channel sounds properly punky, but I reckon it's at its best through the clean channel and turned up to breaking point.
Apart from the scratches on the scratchplate, the other thing that takes the gloss off a bit is that the strings are a bit dirty. Get the feeling it's been played and more than once. Not the end of the world and I can't complain for £130, but it is a bit annoying to have to swap them out immediately.
But it definitely gets the thumbs up. I can't think you could get a better guitar than this for the price. Hell, you could spend twice as much as this on something and be distinctly underwhelmed by the comparison.

Happy with the progress so far on my (mostly) DIY pedal board.

I didn't realise I'd need to master electronics when I picked up the guitar again.
Yesterday I learned about centre negative power adapters. Now I need to learn if I can plug headphones into a line out socket, or a mic socket.
I'm looking to put a Bugera PS1 in between my head and speaker in my Blues Junior IV and would like the option to plug in headphones.
I'm reading different things. This is a mind field.
Anyone know?
TIA.

Looks like the line out will have no speaker/cab emulation on it, so will likely sound pretty bad, especially with distortion. Also may not be loud enough to drive headphones, though sometimes I’ve had success.
If you got a Behringer PM1 and a short xlr cable, you would have a headphone out for not too much more.

I've seen attenuators that include a headphone socket, can't remember which ones, obvs... Is that why you're getting one, to keep the peace?
Edit: Nice but pricey

I need a practice amp for home, doesn't need to be very loud at all but it would be nice if it didn't sound shit... I'm also happy to just have a nice clean tone.
I'm happy to have something solid state/ digital and also would like it to be cheap.
Boss Katana Mini? (seems to be the best choice still to be honest)
Boss Katana 50 (physically a bit big but they're only €150 on local adverts...)?
Yamaha THR (which one do I get, there seems to be a lot of options...)?
Positive Grid Spark (a bit spendy...)?
Orange Crush 12?
Blackstar Debut 15E?
Vox Pathfinder 10?Am I missing something? Thoughts?

Spark mini is good and the app is fun.
Yeah, trying to keep the peace.
The torpedo seems to be the go to, but I don't need s cab sim or to spend that much $$.Thanks mattioats. That PM1 is a nice headphone solution. Could I put this in a combo amp?
Or if I want to attenuate, I guess I need one with dedicated headphone socket.

I have a THR5, the littlest one. It’s okay but I’ve come to realise I don’t use it because the sounds are generally uninspiring. Been looking at the little positive sparks but I dunno…

I've got the THR5 too and I feel the same way about it. It's fun for five minutes. I'm probably gonna get rid of it soon.
It did come in very handy for a friend's funeral recently, jumped on a plane with it and just had to borrow a guitar at the other end. It wasn't as loud at the crematorium as it is in my front room, I thought it was broken!

Sorry, made a mistake. What you’d want is a Behringer P2, not PM1. P2 is also headphone control but has power from batteries so can also boost volume, whereas PM1 just cuts.
If there’s space in the combo you could stick them both together and hide them in the cabinet, but might be easier to keep the P2 and its volume control close to you. Just pick up an XLR that’s long enough to stretch to you favoured noodling spot. P2 will also need its battery changing every now and then.

Thanks mate.
Good food for thought.I've just opened it up and all sorts is going on in there.
Looks like there's a multitap transformer upgrade to an additional external speaker output with Ohm options.
There's also some velcro next to it which must have secured something else at some point.
I have nfi where to put an attenuator in this.
Having an additional headphone box would make this a hot mess.
I'm thinking I might just leave it all alone.

Sounds like the THR5 isn't the one really so...
I guess I just need to go and try a bunch but at the moment it looks a lot like the Blackstar might be a good option. It's just a shame there isn't a nice boutique valve option that has attenuation... I've owned a 3w combo before and even that was too loud for home use.
Extremely tempting Not-a-Strat from Ibanez...
