Honestly I think NCB are worth a few quid. If you run the quote through a price comparison with and without it, it doesn't make much difference.
The thing that does make a huge difference is declaring a claim or accident, even if it's not your fault. My partner is clean but I had a bump in 2020 and that's the killer.

Yeah the car element clearly doesn’t help it’s parked on the street, but we do about 5,000 miles a year I’d guess. It’s with 8 years no claims but that doesn’t seem worth the paper it’s written on lol
