  • Well I just learned Which is still a thing. Excellent advice - will be doing just that

  • It's also worth looking to see if you have a community furniture store nearby.

You can pick up refurbished second hand appliances with a guarantee at a good price if you need anything second hand as a stop gap etc

  • What an ordeal to get this thing in, had to make the cutout 2cm narrower but 5mm deeper. That button is stupid but I can see how it's a lucrative racket at £90 for a replacement.
I would have gone with Fisher & Paykel but their model was 2cm too narrow.

  • Short for; Wi The Fuck

  • I took that sticker off and we will never mention it again

  • You might need it when the button breaks...

  • Jokes

  • Having to use a gas hob after a few years of induction hob. It's like going back from wireless shifting to a poorly set up cable groupset with a triple at the front. Yes its kind of workable but it's not as good or refined as its modern counterpart.

  • Thanks for considering buying an F&P.

What model was it you looked at that was too narrow? That's a 90cm wide one right?

  • We love our f&p French door fridge freezer with the water and ice functions.

  • I was looking at the CI905DTB4 model which is exactly 90cm wide but my cutout was already 90cm so I needed a model that overhangs by a bit. The Miele I had in there was 93cm wide and the Neff is 92cm.
On the F&P the interface looked a lot better and they offer a 5 year warranty.

A lot of the European brands now don't even try and just give the min 2 year warranty and then
try to sell you insurance. With Neff you can't even register the product with them, you have to actually call an insurance company number to register where they then try to sell you a policy.

  • What's the forum approved drinks carbonating machine?
Not too £££ and not flimsy AF.

Also did I see that someone had adapted one to use commercial gas canisters? The capability to do that would be cool.

    Thanks

  • We have a sodastream

I did have the manual one but that broke in under a year. They upgraded me under warranty to the electric one which has now lasted a few years. The manual one has a fizz button that needs a little force to activate, which is what broke it. The electric switch doesn’t need any force.

  • Golf club thread will have the answer for sure.

  • @dbr modded an Aarke

    They're the nicest looking imo

  • We have the Aarke too. Not the pro. It's great. Feels chunky/sturdy.

  • No modding needed really, just a hose off eBay.

  • I got a white Aarke 3 from Curry’s for £100 recently.

  • Thanks all. Looks like I missed the Currys £100 offer.

  • Can anyone recommend a good condensing tumble dryer please? It’ll live on top of my washing machine in a bit very well ventilated room.

2 years ago I also bought cheap homesense pans. The frying pan has now lost it’s coating and is useless. Saucepan going the same way. Not looking to spend the earth, but from an environmental stand point it’d be nice to get something that lasts a bit longer. Any recommendations? Hexclad adverts currently following me round the internet

    Cheers

  • We have Anolon Professional, I like them.

  • Surely some plain or stainless steel ones.

  • Circulon infinite have been good saucepans for me for the past ten plus years.

Frying pan was ok but probably only lasted 5 years or so. Realistically if you want a long lasting frying pan for high heat you probably want cast iron or stainless.
