I’ve sent an email to Miche U.K. as I’ve got two identical cranks with identical cracks…will let you know what they say

I had something like 60 odd sets at work.
They weren't interested.

What cranksets did you replace them with?

BLB ones.

These but they had slightly different chainrings on.

The uneven colouration is the result of foot rubbing.
Unless there is an impact these cranks should last a long time.
A stress fracture may not be readily apparent after an impact.
If components aren't kept clean:- there is less of an imperative to look after it
- difficult to do visual and safety inspections.
- there is less of an imperative to look after it

You're looking at the heel rub, @Carabo is talking about the different colouration across the face of the crack.
@iC you don't happen to work for Miche do you? Just that "Unless there is an impact these cranks should last a long time." sounds very similar to "...they must have been crashed..." which was Miche's response to the 60 odd sets we had with cracks.

I inspect my Miche crankset regularly and no cracks so far...
Today was annoying, a car came towards me too fast and close on a narrow coast road, flicked up a bit of shingle that hit the crank with a loud clang (luckily the car missed hitting me) and has chipped the crank and dented the ring.

If you are buying in person and want to gamble that they've fixed an issue that they would never admit existed then ok.
If you are buying online then there's likely no way to know from a retailer's listing which version you're going to get.
