Thank you, but the poorly matched brickwork really boils my piss!

Keep the porch tiles.
Plan sounds good.
I'd be tempted to change the windows though, that would have the biggest visual impact. -

Sweet.

Haha! We’ve just had them done! I didn’t like coloured ones and these were the best style we could manage on our budget. I think they are so much better that the old ones though.
Original bungalow and then was we bought it

Board and batten clad the set back extension, stained black.
I reckon this would work as it's already subservient to the main house so will make it look like a new addition. You will need the outside of the new windows black too of course :)
I reckon the biggest aesthetic difference you could make would be to get rid of the concrete tiles from the roof, but appreciate this is a big capital cost if they've still got a reasonable lifespan in them.

I'm a big fan of the creasing tiles around the porch, always like that detail on houses.

Great ideas and as a fellow 60s bungalow owner I love these kind of things. We’re going orange for the front door, possibly yellow for the garage when we can afford it.
Or….
Paint the brick white, don’t bother with black stuff and do the yellow thang.,?

Serious home envy right now

I’d love to do the roof, but it’s got a lot of life left in it. To me coloured windows are only a small step away from those fake dark wood ones back in the day.

That’s what stopped my doom scrolling when we were looking.

Dear god thats nice.

Not mine just a googled pic of the white brick look
-

Tictac yellow and orange I hope! I fear our brickwork is too wonky to get away with just painting, but will try it in the porch first.
-
• #5095
Honestly don’t, we can only afford it because we moved the MiL in with us.

Whooops, I think I remember now! You had 14 or so windows to do?
Yeah maybe clad and paint the windows in the cladding section.
-
• #5097
Yeah we just done the down stairs ones for now 16 sets of windows and 2 sets of French doors. The local cladding/window combo is black and white, I think it’ll look good and won’t stand out from the crowd too much :)

Just because other people do it doesn’t mean you should, you can’t trust people.
People like Coldplay and votes for the Nazis. -

I’ve been following this Aynhoe park project - 3 houses designed by Defraft. The cost of the project seems incredible given the materials, size and bespoke nature. But I do think they look rather lovely

Lovely indeed.
It looks really good as it is....to me, anyway!
