Panama Canal levels are so low there’s currently a 21 day wait list, and growing. 40% of the US’* cargo shipments go through there. Canal authority is requiring ships to drop cargo in order to lose enough weight to pass without getting stuck in the literal muck, as much of the canal is like a river.

Yikes, massive oversight from me, cheers.

In many ways, Letby fits the profile for the “typical” female serial killer (FSK) that my team and I compiled for The Journal of Forensic Psychiatry & Psychology in 2015. By analysing cases in the US, we found that nearly 40% of female serial killers are nurses, nurses’ aides or other healthcare workers.

Maybe write it down with pen and paper until you understand it.

As much as I want to ignor the condescending tones, I will clarify my interpretation.
Out of all the jobs and careers available to FSK 40% choose nursing or similar. That means, to my mind at least, that the remaining 60% are spread across a plethora of other jobs. I.e. cashiers at Sainos, lawyers, admin temps, architects, estate agents, chefs, etc.
Unless there is another work sector that claims a near 40% of FSK, then it’s a pretty large proportion of the overall.

So, 40% of FSK's pass through the Panama canal, right?
-
• #84110
Pay attention, it's 40% of US FSKs.
I get that typing the same thing repeatedly must get get tiresome, but am I the only one who thinks 'FSK' is a bit fucking weird? Like it makes them a thing rather than a person. I've never noticed SK or MSK before.

Still doesn't mean that it's normal for nurses to be psychos

@CheBeef, an observation:
What you have just written would support the claim "It's entirely normal for psychos (sic) to be nurses."
It in no way supports the sentence "It's entirely normal for nurses to be psychos." which is what you originally wrote.
Oh and yeah I agree that using "FSK", when no one one writes "MSK" or "SK" is quite odd.
I get that |FSK| << |MSK| < |SK| so it could be argued that it is a noteworthy group that could benefit from an abbreviation. But still, in context it is creepy and not devoid of misogyny, IMO.

Was listening to a podcast on the case yesterday and they discussed the fact that almost no outlets are openly referring to her as a serial killer. Probably because she doesn’t fit our standard notion of what they should be I guess.

Pay attention, it's 40% of US FSKs.
Gah, why is news so hard?!
'FSK'
I guess it helps fit folks into categories, but yeah not seen similar done for others.

It's the FGSK you have to worry about.

As well as having the presumption of virtue in their favour. If you manage a Sainsbury's...
What have you got against Sainsbury's managers Will?
FWIW, I also worked in supermarket as a teenager - a Sainsbury's in fact - and the manager was OK actually. The checkouts supervisor not so much (she had favourites, however fast I scanned things) and I still remember the HR manager, who gave me the distinct impression that it was entirely normal for psychos to be Sainsbury's HR managers.

40% of FSKs... that we've caught. Maybe only the bad ones are nurses.

Trump is so confident he's going to beat these charges he transferred ownership of Mar-A-Lago to Don Jr. a couple of weeks ago. Hiding assets is what innocent people do right?
