Cheers.
We must be close in age then. -

I'm 36, but got started early and was also the beneficiary of some hand-me-downs - the pirate ship came from a school friend of my sister who's just turned 40. My 'golden era' of Lego was probably around 1991-1996, I think the last big set I got was the 6991 space monorail and then as I got older computer games became the obsession...

Yup, I'm the same as the original owner of the ship. :)

The new Concorde set looks fantastic, not that I've got anywhere to put it!

Found this set during a loft clear out. I think there are two pieces missing but I should have spares I can add in. Instructions included. Free to anyone that's interested. First to PM can have.

Can't find it but was this not a Starwars miniset?

It does look kind of Tatooine coloured... I shall investigate. It was one of the few model fragments rather than individual bricks in a bulk pile I have acquired.

The themes in the Lego Friends range aren't my cup of tea, but my 4 year old likes them. And the pastel colours are so good.

My brother works in a shop where a local guy orders 3 of every set he wants in case the box is dinged and he can take the immaculate one.

This means my brother just used his store discount to pick up this set with a dinged box for 120 quid..
My Dad is going to be a happy guy for Xmas this year!

I bought and built that earlier in the year. It's fucking massive. I had absolutely nowhere to put it so dismantled it and sold it for £20 less than I bought it for.
Cool build.

Speaking of the Concorde model...

Yeah unless u are the Royal Family some of these kits are a tad excessive.
A lot of oil.

A lot of oil
2kg of oil is used for every 1kg of Lego. I have no idea if that's a lot comparatively to other toys or oil products.
The way I look at it, is that my daughter and her cousins are currently using the Lego I had as a kid when at her grandparents. That's not single use plastic so can't be viewed through the same lens.

I'm guilty of it too. All in the name of education? or entertainment?
Not just lego either.

My Dad is going to be lost to it for months and then my Mum will worry about where it will go. :D
