  • Finally got round to actually sitting through Pentiment over the last couple of weeks. Really liked it. I had it sort of worked out midway-ish through and felt it was a shame that I couldn’t follow through with what I thought. But the story that it took instead was good to follow as well and was satisfying when it did reach what I’d thought. Some quite emotional parts and some wonderful characters and small side stories to follow through it.

Then moved onto Firewatch as I’d never got round to playing it back in the day. Also enjoyed it, I expected a game of actually sitting in a tower reporting fires and picking up small incidental stories in the background so was actually quite a curve ball early on for me.

I also really enjoyed it but for some reason abandoned it about half way through. I think it was because I wanted to make different significant choices in either chapter two or the beginning of chapter 3 (don't remember which) but the game doesn't give you a decent of rollback option (just the last seven autosaves), so you have to start entirely from scratch.

I'll go back to it at some point but will probably start from scratch anyway, because the memory of what happened has faded a bit and it's highly useful to remember those things.
