  • TBF black lines are bread and butter.
Anywhere reputable will do a good job, an apprentice would likely appreciate the experience too

  • Haha, I do have a stick and poke kit. Maybe I'll do it myself.

  • An apprentice somewhere decent isn't a bad shout actually!

  • Love an apprentice me. I only get line work, wee daft things. Nice relationship with an apprentice and yer laughing.

  • Decided I needed a pic of the boat, very pleased!

  • Got zapped for the first time in a long time yesterday, can someone remind me whether bepanthen is still the go to for aftercare? Seem to remember hearing the formula changed or something

  • Formula changed, some people had issues with it. Bepanthen now do tattoo specific stuff. I'd probably go for Cocoa butter as well for my skin

  • I love this! Planning to get a skeleton soon too!

  • Was feeling homesick yesterday and spontaneously got these in Sacramento while passing through. I had no idea what I wanted going in, and the artist Layne Furness, went through hundreds and hundreds of old designs with me from the 1800s onward and then drew these up based on stuff I liked. And before we pick apart the accuracy and colouring of the Union Jack, it was lifted directly from some 1920s flash from Hong Kong. Really happy with them both.

  • These are great - saved for when I'm next in that part of the world!

  • Gotta bit carried away recently.

  • That’s excellent, good choice. Don’t think I’d be brave enough to have so much colour but you’ve pulled it off well

  • Thanks. Those colours calm down on my skin quite a lot - especially with the amount of black that's in there. This was taken a few minutes after it was finished.

  • Love it. Same artist?

  • Different. Didn't bother sharing as they're not in the UK, but probably should've!

Castle and bulldog were done by Layne Furness at American Grafitti, Sacramento, California. He drew them then and there and only charged me $250 for both. Was stoked.

Dragon was by Daniel Fonseca at Brick Alley Tattoo in Monterey, California. But he usually works at a shop called Electric Monarch in San Luis Obispo, California. He has tattooed me there before.

I'm really spoilt for choice with artists working in this particular niche of traditional tattoos.

  • Very fun!

  • Anyone here have any experience with NAAMA, for removals ?

  • Don’t think I’ve ever posted in this thread. Got a new addition on chest/sternum. Didn’t actually hurt at all and I was thinking that it would.
