Do you make a top cap that would rectify this?
Measure the height from the top of the compression ring to top of the head tube while the ring is snug around the steerer. I have depths up to 4mm, which would suit a height measurement of 4.2-4.5mm

How much will the customs charges be on £250 worth of canoe trailer from Ireland?
I've tried searching but keep coming up with commodity codes and helplines I'd have to call.
-
• #118308
If you have a commodity code it's easy enough to calculate.
There's a pretty good chance that it will be 0% duty and 20% Vat but that's not definite.
-
• #118309
I tried looking one up but I'm not sure what it would be - it's quite a niche product.
(One canoe/kayak cart, and one kit to turn that into a bicycle trailer for a canoe).

I'd say that may fall under Other Trailers

But it's not my area of expertise. -

I want a use my Carradice Nelson on my handlebars when mini Nef is on the back of this bike. What are my options? I can just about get away with a small bag on the bars but the weight of a bigger bag on the brake cable and the bag itself being unsupported doesn’t seem like a good setup.

Flat bars.... Or add a front rack and mod on a bar for the bag to strap onto.

Bad photo…… I have one of these as a front rack

I’ve seen those but they seem like they’d be a bit bouncy.
Then I found this which looks ideal but seems ridiculously expensive (and hard to find).

It’s basically exactly what I had in mind, quite surprised it’s seemingly such a niche thing. -

The traditional bounce snubber was bungees to the mudguard eyes, you could probably go a bit more modern with some paracord to the mid-fork eyelets

Can I use two handlebar shims, 22.2 to 25.4mm and then 25.4mm to 31.8mm?

You introduce two additional surfaces which can slip and allow your bars to move. It's a bodge you can get away with if you're using straight bars as you don't exert any torque about the potential rotation axis, but something where you hands are a long way from that axis (BMX or drop bars, for example) it's a bit risky

Cool, thanks. A new stem it is.

How about making your own from second hand carbon bits and pieces? E.g. tt extensions?
-
• #118322
That’s a great idea! Unlikely to be carbon, but I do have a set of these lovely Chinese eBay specials that could be a helpful base if I point the extensions towards the ground. Just need to think about how to support the bottom of the bag.

Jack Rack is also an option as long as you don’t mind the outlay and 5kg weight limit.

Driving me a bit mad, so can anyone please suggest a Panaracer Pasela-like 26” x 1.5” folding all black tyre for urban/road use? It’s for an exacting customer to whom I’d offered Paselas thinking they did all black in 1.5 (only 1.75…). I’ve now spent hours on this and haven’t even found a good replacement to suggest that doesn’t look like a motorcycle tyre (looking at you Vittoria) :/

This looks promising. Do you have one? How is it? I couldn't see any reviews online.
It’s made to the head tube dimensions they specify, with 3mm depth.
Do you make a top cap that would rectify this?
