I'm eyeing up a bike with a Sram DUB bb (BSA 68) fitted - will a Hollowgram Si crank with a 30mm axle fit into this BB or do I need to buy something else?
Also is anyone using 12 speed but non-Sram chainrings on 12 speed AXS with the flat top chain? I've heard Rotor make some but can't find them - otherwise Praxis Buzz should work I think... any others?
Cheers in advance

Dub is 28.99 or thereabouts so no.
I gather pressfit?
If threaded, there are bsa30 bbs (rotor for example) but you'ld need a longer axle for the hollowgram crank.
I found that out the hard way. -

Can anyone tell me what bearings I need for a cartridge bearing stronglight a9 headset (1"). Sjs have mentioned they're 41 X 30.15 (45° X 45°) but they've not listed the height.
I think it'll probably be 7mm but wondered if anyone knew for sure. See datasheet image I found online.
I'd pop the headset out and measure it but it's on a friend's bike who lives elsewhere and I'm on holiday.

stronglight a9 headset (1")
Proprietary, definitely not 30mm ID because that would be a 1-1/8" headset

Geez I'm thick. Ha ha. Didn't think of that.
Any ideas where I can get them? Stronglight website is useless (at least on mobile).

In my defense I got that info from sjs on the page for the 1" version.

First check exactly which A9 you're looking at, there have been many varieties over the years. Then actually take it apart because you can't be confident from external appearance. If you actually have angular contact cartridge bearings, read the part number etched on the outer race, or take detailed measurements and determine the equivalent part from the ACB page on the TH Industries web site. Google search by bearing designation or TH part number and discover that the only shop which has them in stock is in Singapore. Finally go to your bike shop and buy a Cane Creek 40

For any cyber security experts, I have a question ...
I opened an account with a challenger bank yesterday via their app. The sign up flow was to ask for some details (email, name etc.) and then a phone number to text you a six digit code. Moved through the rest of the process no worries.
However when logging in after opening the account, via their app, it asks for your phone number and then sends a code, which you enter to log in. Also, if you go to "Create account" instead of "Log in" and enter an existing phone number, it sends you the code which then logs you in upon entering it.
I was under the impression that SMS was incredibly insecure, and that at best it should be used as an additional factor in signing in, not as the only factor. Furthermore, requiring someone to just know a telephone number to sign in, (rather than me entering my email or username and then it sending the code to the number on file) seems like it would allow a bad actor to test compromised numbers for access and easily sniff out accounts?
I'm not naming the bank because I'll disclose to them if I am right, but does this not seem like an incredibly insecure way of securing a bank account?

Can you actually get in using only the SMS code on a fresh install on another phone? It may be that the bank is remembering you’ve used that install of the app with that account before.
Much like locking a bike with a D-lock, SMS isn’t there to make an account truly secure, it’s there to make the risk of compromise acceptable (to the bank) and deter unsophisticated attackers.

I would like to transport a wooden table (not flatpack) from France to Scotland. Does anyone have any leftfield suggestions for companies or services to do it? Prices around generally £600+ I'd obviously love to pay less than that...
I think someone on here recommended a service recently, I think they sell free space on lorries or something? I can't really remember and I can'f find it either - maybe I dreamt it up.
It was first point, thanks Jurek :) -

Probably a silly question, but are you 100% certain the legs are not removable in any way?
-
• #118239
Yes, it's a 400 year old oak table and it's very much stuck together in table shape. The top is removable but that's it.
-
• #118240
Fair enough. Good luck. Sounds like a cool table.
-
• #118241
Thanks! It's a special one

Probably pegged in that case. I doubt whether taking it apart will save enough on transport to justify the effort, but you can non-destructively disassemble such things.

Yep. Tried it on my wife's phone with a new install using my phone number. Code came to me, she put it in to her phone and she had access to my account.

In that case it does sound incredibly insecure. So which bank?

Is it possible to undo a delete of a voicemail on android (pixel 7 pro / vodafone).
Hit '3' by mistake before it'd even started playing. I can't figure out if there's some kind of junk folder. -

Let me disclose to them first. See what they say. Then I'll spill the beans.
But if anyone uses a bank that lets the log in by supplying a phone number and receiving a text, I would question it.

I asked SJS and they assure me it's the correct bearing for 1" or 1 1/8".
Which it almost definitely isn't.
Oh well.
Think I'll get her to fit a cheapo one until we can measure the bearing and order it.

It's not a physical impossibility, but the 1" cups would look huge, like the bottom half of an FSA Pig

Yeah it'd be weird.
I've got one on an older frame I'm not using at the mo and it's very similar in size to a standard 1" HS.
Admittedly I've not changed the bearings. But I fitted it (and the one on my friend's bike) and there is no way it uses the same bearings as a 1 1/8" HS.

What size Silca Impero Ultimate II pump do I need for a 58cm top tube, 54.5cm inside to inside post?
There seems to be one chart that says I need a large, and one that says I need an Extra large.....
I hope so, because I've been doing it for years 🙂
Should be fine as long as you use the 12-speed chain
