The endless bike shuffle continues...
My current winter bike was in a very very sorry state so I have sent it off to get it sandblasted. I will do some sweet modifications to it and make it my first self powder coated frame... and probably use it as a summer road bike. More on that later. In the meantime I am taking my gravel bike and making it my winter road bike.
Might go for less silly wheels and put on some mudguards. And I might swap the group set for 105 and use this on the other bike.
And then I have a dream of a all steel aero all road bike... Which I am not sure when I can build or afford a groupset for ...

Here's some sketches... It's still work in progress but I have already bought the aero down tube to get a feel for what I want to create...
It will be 12mm thru axle front and rear and flat mount

Not tempted to go for aero fork blades or some kind of definitelynotafairing on the headtube?
-
• #7788
have some ideas for the headtube but havent found the right solution for forks yet...

I really really like this bike. What modifications are you planning?
-

The pictures bike isn't getting any modifications. Just mudguards and cheaper groupset.
It's the black/Goldy looking bike that's getting new dropouts and some love.

It’s kind of satisfying to see others fail when doing things (i mean in a positive way), or this ,oh my what was I thinking’ moment. Great you post this stuff!

The process I had decided on meant I needed square pieces to begin with. Next time I'll get the parts laser cut so I just need to do the assembly.
Leftovers get used for other projects or when they are too small or akward to handle they go in the metal recycling bin and then back to the foundry eventually. 80% of steel is recycled
