New bike taken for a shake-down ride.
1991 CyclePro Ambush, one previous owner. Seems like this was specced with complete Shimano Deore LX, including the pedals.
The guy I bought it off said he hadn’t swapped anything but tyres - he was right, even the grips and brake pads seem to be original.
Rode 3 km of techy single track - 5.5 km/h average 😎 Coming from modern geo (and wide bars!) to this was a real eye-opener - people racing in the early 90’s must’ve been proper daredevils..!
Plan is stem converter, and new cockpit. Also need to fix the left shifter - the “click” doesn’t stick when trying to shift out of smaller front chainring anymore (worked yesterday though).
