Nice, nice, nice, there are barely any TT projects here. Good luck!

Ride slow, die whenever

Usually I agree but if I’m going to cycle the streets in wet Lycra with my dad bod I like to go fast to avoid harming peoples eyes

Bars incoming. Cheap and look ok shape so should be fine for playing with position

Worked out how to get the rear brake insert out so that’s cheered me up! Also won a bid for silver brake levers which I hope will match the silver in the frame.
Praxis bb on the way, mechanic ready to fit this. Computer mount for tt bars coming.
Thinking about silver cables or bar tape

Brake cables are in. Bit of swearing, didn’t help that we had a storm so it went dark halfway through!
Not set the brakes up yet as I don’t have wheels but it’s coming on. Seat is on, bars are set up roughly.
Cranks to resolve next

Poked an inner through the gear cables this morning and that was easy too. Each port in the top tube leads to a specific tube inside the frame, so you can really lose the cable. Much easier than my old Cervelo where the cables just vanished inside the frame tubes and could end up anywhere!

You still after some wheels? Might have some RS81 c50 available soon
-
• #11
I have some planet X tubular TT wheels with a rear disc cover if that's of interest?
-
• #12
I’ve got a front on the way, on the look out for a cheap clincher disc rear now.
-
• #13
cheap clincher disc
Pick two :D In the same boat.

• #14
Might go cheap rear wheel and disc cover for now
Gear levers, cassette and chain ordered. Only new parts.
Still need to play with bottle position and tool storage although my next race is a totally flat sprint tri so won’t be stopping to fix a flat if I get one

Looking fast while standing, while not even having both wheels yet, is a promise of a rally good result.

Might go cheap rear wheel and disc cover for now
Ahh, this is what you're building. You didn't fancy the PT 808 + cover then? :)

Looking good… if it was me I’d be cutting the base bars down where the start kinking upwards again, both for Aeros and because if you’re in a good position with your arms I’d imagine going that far forward on the base bars will be verging ok superman position!

Yeh I probably will, I thought the same.
I want to get a back wheel in and get it all levelled up first though
What would these 2 bolts halfway down the non drive side chainstay be for?

Probably a bit expensive. I don’t really need the power tap so I guess that will push the price up too high

Di2 external battery

Ah good knowledge thanks! Won’t be an issue any time soon!
Pm if you have an idea of price for that wheel but I think it’ll be too high?
I got bored of adding clip on tri bars, swapping seat, moving the seat etc on my road bike so I’m building a specific tri bike that can live on the turbo or do race specific training rides but might only get 5-6 races per year and maybe 10-12 outdoor rides.
Aim is under £1k
No disc brakes, easy maintenance so I can fix issues myself
So far I have
Neil Pryde XL frame set off eBay arriving next week
105 cranks, probably 165mm length- had these
105 mechs off here
Ultegra brakes off here
Clip on bars with hed extensions which I like so will keep for now
3t base bar on way from wiggle- allegedly was £120, now £30
None matching tt brake levers- remains to be seen if I can live with this
ISM saddle- love this for tt, stops my legs going numb so I can run well off the bike
Should be able to at least bolt some bits on next weekend and make it look like a bike (minus wheels)
Local shop is closing so hopefully I can get some cheap wheels there, plus maybe the cassette and chain.
Race wheels, tyres, bottle mounts and wahoo computer mount needed next. Next race is early august so ideally before then.
