Drop by Brompton Junction at 7 Dials.
Speak to them and see if they could sort you out with a demo bike for a day.

I have the rear rack on my P-Line, what are the Forum Approved lashing/fixture straps for securing things to it?
-
• #13955
voile straps!

I've a new standard front wheel waiting to be fitted. Still tempted to get a better hub with cartridge bearings. Any recommendations?
Long term I'd like to get a Kinetic's disc fork.

I did Waterloo to Warren Street (and back) for years. I’d say the time compared to the Northern Line is similar (would probably depend how you caught the bike crossings at the top of Waterloo Bridge). Bit faster downhill on the way back.
Way, way preferable (in any weather) to the tube for me though. -

All of this.
Spent years convincing myself Brompton weren’t proper bikes, then got one and wondered why I hadn’t gotten one earlier, complete cycling game changer…
As long as I’m riding bikes one of them will be a Brompton.. -

^This
It's all very well being cool and brakeless or having loads of bottle cages and a bar bag but... Bromptons are very practical things and I can't imagine not having one now.

but at the same time probably dont need one
Coming on to this thread, and asking those on it, might just give you the answer you want to justify a decision you may have already made

The official bungee straps do a good job of orienting your luggage away from your heels if it's a bulky/unusual size but all things considered, they're still bungees and they're flawed.
+1 vote for voile straps.
I'd never recommend anyone pay the extra for the metal buckles because I've seen them sheer the straps.
I have two of the voile rack-specific straps and they fit the tubing of the Brompton p-line rack perfectly.

thanks - i do agree with all these points... tbh i always go to guildford main station vs london road anyway to get the faster train (unless there has been some SWR-related meltdown on the main line). would defo cut down the 15 min walk significantly too

I mean it's all pretty new to me, so still getting my bearings. Only started my new job this week, need a phone holder to be honest, keep pulling over and realising I've overshot by about four streets. Just about dialing my route now but that's only on Google's recommendations. Took the tube as train was majorly delayed yesterday, Waterloo to Camden Town and then cycled to the office. Not a lot in it to be honest. I think if the stop at the other end is real close to your workplace then it would be quicker but that's not the case for me, still another 20 minute walk. The tube was quiet because I was running one hour behind but if it was super busy I'd much prefer the cycle I feel. I'm also not the ideal cyclist either as have issues with my left leg and hips since being a baby, so most could probably ride it faster.

Luckily Quad-Lock do a wildly overpriced brom specific mount ;-)

Will a brompton fit in this space? Folded obviously.

An absolute Quad of cash you say?
LITERALLY ride from my door to my desk!
That was until PA to head of Europe mentioned I could use one of the meeting rooms to park my Brompton instead of it behind my chair.
WIN!
