The Boa strap is promising, although it could do with being slightly shorter as it overlaps enough to stop it tightening up quite as much as I'd like. The bag is, I suspect, going to be as waterproof as a teabag, but will do for testing. I think a tool-roll type thing will be much better (potentially the one mentioned up-thread), although I may ask @Tijmen if he'd be good enough to make me both strap and roll when I've narrowed down what I want from said arrangement a little more.
