Yeah, I've previously done the testing on my front wheels. I don't have the numbers but I previously raced with 25s that came up 27mm but moved to Open Corsas in the fat version and then to Open Corsas in the skinny version. On the rear, makes no difference so keep it fat for theoretically some Crr benefit but mostly comfort.
What's his face from HED, Tom Anhalt? will have some better data for other wheels if this kind of thing floats your boat :)

According to the internet 4 watts at 40kmh improvement on a 28c tyre, crucially at the same pressure as the equivalent 25c.
Probably negated by the worse aero, at least on the front, as you say.
Run them at a lower pressure and get some more comfort for no rolling resistance reduction sure, but noticeable increase in speed? Nah
