I think they’re still making XT and XTR Di2 but I can’t remember the last time I saw a bike with it on.
Pinkbike’s photo’s from the XC World Cup haven’t shown any pro bikes with it on in at least a couple of years from what I remember.
AXS seems to have taken over the ,Arles completely for electric MTB gears and I’m not sure Shimano can come back against that. -

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back in a ebike variant so it can be run off the single battery. My experience of Di2 is it works really well, but I wouldn't want to wire it up, and AXS has all the advantages without the wiring.

Those patents drawings don't show the same system but sram have patents for a strange 3 piston single sided brake caliper that uses a rotor with side to side 'float'.
Interesting that they both have these post mount brackets that attach at the axle.Edit - found this article

Oh yeah, well like the universal hanger is a easy way of SRAM sneaking proprietary components, like "we've made this open source hanger that makes a lot of sense, the parts are cheap and who ever wants to manufacture a bike with it can. Oh, it also fits any mech... Ffwd 3 years ... Oh and now we're going to make mechs that have an integrated hanger but exactly fit your bike, and no other brand can do this"

True, but the MTB world isn't quite as susceptible to the the single manufacturer eco system as the road market is, but then again SRAM can't really touch the Tiagras and Clarises of this world.

Yeah I do think that it is ultimately a bit of a dick move.
Being able to mix and match everything 11 speed was great, lots of options for consumers without many compatibility issues.
The dawn of 12 speed was the start of cross compatibility issues with chains and cassettes which has been a bit shit.
For me, the best 12 speed mtb set up was axs mechs with shimano cassette and chain. That’s no longer possible with Transmission now, it requires sram cassette and chains.But both Sram and Shimano are forcing users into one eco system or the other under the guise of ‘optimal performance’. I think most folk are happy to have complete groupsets with one or the other.
But proprietary parts are always going to be a bit wank to me. -

Removed the shock from my Jeht this morning to send off to TF Tuned for a service. First time removing a shock from any bike. Absolutely shat my way through the process, even tho it is v straightforward. Got out the other side without fucking anything up. Just got to get it back on in one piece when it comes back. Easy peasy.

I've got a Wolfs Tooth B-Rad mount on my trail bike, it's a metal plate with a couple of long slots cut in it which mounts to bottle cage bosses.
Wolfs Tooth provide a velcro strap that passes through these straps and you use to secure a bag.
It's hard to get enough compression using the velcro strap because, I suspect, you tighten it down and then everything in the bag shakes around and moves so some slack appears.
This causes the bag to fret, and whilst it starts out waterproof it has soon got a bunch of holes in.
I'd like to replace the strap with something that can tighten down better - either a fabric strap with a boa closure or a rubber strap/similar.
I'd also like to replace the bag with something that can compress itself, and is waterproof.
What have people got or seen that would fit the bill?

We discussed this a couple of months ago! For the strap, either a Voile mini or an Austere buckle would be the best options IMO.

Now, what to put my stuff in? I like the idea of a tool roll as that becomes something you can spread out on the ground and put bolts etc on so they don't get lost when you're working to fix something.
Granite? Silca? Someone else?

I made myself something similar to the Velocolour Dynamite . I've found it to be quite good at coping with different levels of fullness. The only downside is I feel it could do with a second loop to stop it slipping out of the strap over time.

X01 12spd derailleur cheap at less than half the price. I bought one, and guess I'll be putting whatever I saved against RRP towards a 12spd cassette, chain, free hub and shifter...

Got my shock back from TF Tuned (v good service btw would recommend, not that I’m saying anything new here) and refitted with (I hope) no drama.
I absolutely love this bike, it’s a joy. But whoever decided to route the rear derailleur cable so it sits directly over the nut for the shock was not having the best day. It makes a fiddly job that bit more annoying. Still, if that’s the worst thing you have to say about a bike…
