That’s got to be a mistake, no one would do that deliberately?

Cheers for all the input.
Will post a pic of whatever I work out.

They scan the planning applications and then blunderbuss everyone locally in the hope they get a nibble. I had lots of these a year or so ago. One bloke actually sent me a fairly detailed quote for the totality of the work I'd got planning for which I was impressed with. The price was good too. But if they have to do this to get work then it's a major red flag obvs

We’ve just got a couple of these through the post after submitting a planning application, both with detailed costings and a total price too good to be true.
One of them somehow managed to get hold of my phone number and rang repeatedly over the course of a weekend until I politely told the dude to do one.

More annoying are the party wall surveyors who send letters to your neighbours encouraging them to get a party wall survey which won't cost them a penny ...
-
• #7283
Oh aye, but to send out with no postage?!
-
• #7284
I just checked my paperwork - one of the unsolicited quotes I got was from the same company as you with the same Tel number but they were calling themselves advanced extensions limited in 2021 and they had a different address. One possible explanation is that they phoenix their company every year after diddling clients and doing a bunk then rename and rebrand. They at least did me the kindness of paying for the totality of the postage on their quote.

Was gonna email asking for my £2.50 back, just out of principle. Sounds like that might be a bit pointless and I'd rather not divulge more of my details than they already have.
Maybe I should send a reply (A4, unfolded) in the post and forget to put a stamp on.

Snagging finished as of yesterday.
New Blum bin is great and should have just gone for that in the first place.
Ordered 1 of 2 Silent Gliss curtains bc the one in the living room is so long I can’t afford it just yet! -

Someone asked about intumescent paint for exposed steel beams that complies with building regs recently, but I can’t find the post now, and would like to parrot the same question.
What’s out there for this purpose (RAL fire retardant paint for steel)?
-
• #7293
I don't think there was much useful (apart from grand designa chat obviously)
-
• #7294
We are using this on a job I am on now. You give them the coverage you need and use all the paint in even coats( a white base coat ) then go over the top with a RAL coloured top coat.
Can’t think of there name at the moment but will post later
As mentioned in that link it is hard to get a good finish without spraying, but from our samples the architect chose the foam roller sample as this was the smoothest finish without spraying -

Just found the paperwork, hope this helps. Any questions just ask.

I'm looking to have an opening picture window as part of a ground floor extension, shown in the pic attached.
Which type of opening configuration would suit this best? Two-panel bifold? There will be bench seating underneath this window, both inside and outside, so the ability to fully open the entire thing would be great... this obvs precludes a sliding type.
Side pivot? Does such a thing exist/would it be practical for this size opening?

Sorry, thought you were talking doors there, but maybe Velfac French doors? But yeah, I believe pivot would work, you can specify where you want the pivot to be (IQ Glass do them I believe).
I have also seen nice all bi fold somewhere but imagine they are crazy money.
In that pic your guttering is prob going to over hang the 3 part window.
Totally forgot to look out the guy, sorry...

This is almost exactly the question I've been looking at!
I had been put off pivot as performance is apparently not great, plus I think they can be a bit of a finger trap (and we have young kids) - but would be willing to be persuaded otherwise.
What size will your window be?

What are the dims of that window? Something like that would be like a pivot door I think? We have one which is the max size that Rationel do which you can easily pop in and out of but doesn't look as big as yours
Making potential customers pay to recieve unsolicited mail is an interesting way to go about introducing your services.
Wonder if they'd knock £2.50 off the final bill?
