So hurrah, I managed to get back on a bike today for the first time after the crash.
I actually crashed scoping out my new commute - a hilly 15 mile route - so it was nice to go and do it trouble free today. The worst climb has sections of 14%. I rode it on my road bike today, but obviously I'm keen to ride it on this new build (as this is what it's intended purpose is). The build currently runs 49x19 which is about 70 gear inches and I flat out won't manage that on the steep hills. Is running 42x19 at 60GI going to be annoyingly spinny? Otherwise I'll go for 44x19 at about 63 gear inches.
This is a bit of a silly question and obviously subjective, but any thoughts?
