Can't comment on the others, but I much prefer the QR mechanism on the Brompton Superlights over that on the MKS Compact Ezys in terms of ease of use.
Having said that, I do think fit could be better as there is a very small amount of play present, which at that price should have been avoided. Not noticeable in use, of course.

Thanks, from the photos it did look like a slick connection. I don wondering the play wound annoy me though, and given that most of the time they will remain attached (as the GR9s are now) that I could live with the slightly slower removal

Thanks for that, although I think I was hoping someone would come and say the litepro ones were just as good at 1/4 price as the H&H ones are ££££!

Well. I finally did it. I had a Brompton about 8 yrs ago and used it for work. Then when I changed jobs my bright orange 3 speed sat neglected under the stairs apart from occasional jaunts to the pub. So I sold it. Then complained about selling it fairly often as I realised it had been a favourite bike.
But life and financial considerations stopped me from spanking the cash on a new one. This week the missus gave me the nod, cyclescheme spanked for a new 6 speed explorer. Just waiting on the confirmation paperwork. So excited to be back on a Brompton.

Nowhere near as spendy as the Ti Workshop ones - they were a couple of hundred.

Carbon wheels overheated the latex tube and exploded the tube and then broke the wheel.
(This is when I was descending) - Journey from London to Paris.

Yeah, road rash - funny first thought was 'how was the bike'!
-
• #13789
wow that is crazy. sorry to hear that.... guess they overheat much faster than road wheels as they are so much smaller. hope you are ok

Fuck!
Hope you came out of it okay!
What came of the trip?
Did you bail or have you sorted a new wheel to finish the journey? -

A link that works for the no2

Crikey.
Was it the sudden deflation that broke the wheel or the impact of the road/weight of your front fork, on a tubeless tyre?CliveO has already discussed the tubilotos here, and I had a little wobble where I had a puncture in my front tyre last week. The behaviour of the front tyre with a deflated latex tube is probably dangerous, unlike a rubber tube; the loss of handling, to me, is more pronounced.

Good grief. Hope you're ok.

Is that Sport Megastore legit? That seller has sold out, but there are other sellers selling the same bag at various prices, all using the same images and text.

I think it was likely the explosive nature of the plastic tube getting super heated and the subsequent pressure increase. Boom!!!

Rode to around Redhill where there was a massive descend, but got scared and breaking hard and the heat burst the inner tube and then rode on the rims before it broke.
Got the train to Brighton and got a new front wheel before riding to Newhaven before riding to Paris. Epic and worst ride for a while!

It was the heat in the carbon wheels which burst the tubeolito which the allow the rims to be riding on the road before it broke and threw me off the bike.

Is tubolito latex? Thought it's plastic no?
Not jealous at all ;)
