Russian special forces being videoed taking position on bridges in the Moscow southern suburbs and M4 has been completely shut.

Putin halts Ukraine invasion because he was misinformed??
Nah, in his speech he pretty much said there’s neo-nazis in Ukraine they need to invade to protect Russia.

Nothing to see, just a military helicopter taking anti aircraft fire over an urban area in Russia

There’s something that struck me about one of Prigozhin’s statements yesterday that hasn’t been picked up on generally where he said (paraphrasing) that recent Ukrainian advances had been much deeper than reported, and the counteroffensive is picking up pace.
It seems to me that the war might be taking a turn towards its conclusion and this is Prigozhin getting the first blow in, ahead of the post-war recriminations and power struggles. It also looks better for him if Wanger aren’t at the front when it collapses.

Putin very carefully not staying who are the enemies of Russia leaving him all the options open.

That'd sort out healthy school catering nice and quickly

• #4133
It’s probably the anti growth coalition of anyone he doesn’t like on a particular day
-
• #4134
Prigohzin isn’t stupid, he wouldn’t do this if he thought it was suicide. Same goes for his troops.
-
• #4135
I know everyone hates Putin and this chaos might cause or hasten the end of his stint in power, but surely everyone else has noticed that Prigozhin is probably even madder, at LEAST as Ethno-Nationalist, and that the last few Coups in Russia didn't exactly make things better, either for the West, the wider world, or for ordinary Russians
-
• #4136
If this coup gets Russia out of Ukraine it will be better for a lot of people. Better for Ukraine and better for the conscript Russians.
Looks better for everyone in Belarus too. -
• #4137
but that's my point. Isn't Prigozhin annoyed at how the war with Ukraine is being run (ie not well for Russia). What makes people think he wants Russia to pull out of Ukraine? Is there not a chance he wants them to double down on the war?

Wagner air defence just misses Russian helicopter

Turns out the oil depot exploding and this near miss are probably the same incident and the missile caused the explosion. War is confusing man.

Prigohzin has said Russia will be able to mount a proper Ukrainian offensive and raise Russia up to where it should be in the war if he can over throw the corrupt officials in the MoD
-
• #4141
My gut feeling is that this will be over fairy quickly. Those columns going northwards must be extremely vulnerable to air attacks. Also there is talk of blowing up bridges to halt their advance.
But then I remember all the Russian infiltrators that were rounded up in Kyiv during the first days of the invasion, athletic guys in track suit bottoms. I think it was someone on here that claimed for certain that they were Wagner. So if they have managed to plan something similar in Moscow, maybe they've got half a chance?
Doubt it though, probably over in a few days. Just hoping Ukraine can make something out of it. -
• #4142
I don’t think anyone is expecting a stable democracy.
Just hoping for a weaker corrupt oligarchy (preferably with some withdrawal from Ukraine and most nukes accounted for).
-
• #4143
You're more optimistic than me
-
• #4144
Yes probably wasn't the best time to deploy nukes to Belarus, no way they don't have an uprising if Putin did fall or was massively weakened
-
• #4145
What do you do with the wagnerites after this, don't get the impression Russia can afford to lose 30k of their better armed and trained manpower but do you really want to draft a bunch of rabble rousers into your ranks with already low morale
-
• #4146
Half of them came from Prison, I guess they'll all go back there. I would have thought it would be more dangerous for the Russian top generals to allow them to stay free and fighting in Ukraine-no telling what they will do there or if they'll mutiny again. Better to lose your best soldiers from the front than have your best soldiers turn on you because they can't be trusted.

Seems to be a growing coalition

Seems the chechens are now approaching Rostov, would not want to be a citizen on the streets in the coming hours

I wouldn't put the kettle on just yet, they're apparently stuck in traffic.
