I'd love to get him watching Encanto etc - but he's seen clips and just doesn't respond well yet. A year or two.
I've thankfully managed to maintain a paw patrol free house, to date.
Films he's happy with: pooh related things / peanuts related things / and he's quite into disney's robin hood. But that's about 10 films on a loop. We managed Ponyo after a LOT of coaxing.
So I'm thinking Jaws next.

Luca, Encanto, Turning Red all get my vote too. Also del Torro's Pinocchio.

Spent all my pocket money as a primary school kid on jurassic Park cards and learning the art of swaps in the playground

So I'm thinking Jaws next.
Go old school on him, leave him with a VHS home recording of Peanuts that then runs into Jaws after the adds. Maybe let it get two thirds of the way through the first mauling before the tape runs out. Character building.

I recently picked up the Panini JP 30th anniv trading cards.
Sadly it encompasses the whole franchise, not just the OG. -

I've never seen any of those but probably know most of the songs (and dance moves) from Encanto. My 2 1/2 year old niece gets a bit shirty if she has to listen to anything else when she's in the car.

After Alien, obviously.

I think I might cave and buy a TV when he's old enough not to be trusted. I would sneak down after bedtime if I heard something inappropriate was going to be on. Not a fancy TV mind. He's got to learn scheduling so none of this on demand bollocks.

Bradley Cooper is the mark of money spent and the film being shite.

Didn’t know he was in GOTG. LP was shite. With or without him.

The ending scene is great, sure it's a bit thrashy but nothing wrong with that!
Brain Damage is another great thrashy classic.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space, the VHS case used to freak me out.
I would go look at it every time I was in my local video shop as a child. -

Am I the only one that liked Licorice Pizza?

Ha! Until Chalfie chimed in i'd been feeling like Mugatu about that movie, it was definitely well liked on here when released (and by critics).

Watched Luca when babysitting my niece a couple of weeks ago. First kids film I have seen in 40 years. Loved it. But mainly for the time spent with the little darling

Still haven’t got round to it but have high hopes. Fan of his work in general

Hell or High Water - not sure how I missed it when it came out but it’s on iPlayer at the moment and it’s really good.

Ill Manors - not too bad lahndan film (no danny dyer, but it is Ben Drew directing)
Ill Manors
Have always had Defamation Of Strickland Banks on a playlist, had known he did a wide variety of formats but just caught up with this. Thought it was superb, well acted, great soundtrack and clever weave of / intertwine of narratives.
Would recommend -

Spider verse 2 was amazing. Impressive how they invented animation techniques for the first one, then ramped it up to 11 for this.
The British character made me feel very patriotic. Great casting all round.
Thankfully my kid had grown out of paw patrol before I had to deal with the film. I've seen frozen probably more than anything else though, it's fine but not really something I want to see 1000 times. Stuff like Coco, inside out, Luca, encanto and turning red are great though, but so we're Aladdin and the little mermaid TBF.
