Think that MD2020 and maddog were different brands of the same thing. Was the herby one thunderbirds.
Buckfast is now used to make negroni cocktails.

I think Mad dog was just an unoffical nickname for MD2020.

Did none of you try brewing your own beer or wine from kits?
Yep - some of the most disgusting filth. Truly end of the night desperation drink/drinking game fuel only. Unbelievable how much better the kits are now.
Daughter's uni drink of choice for "pre's" is squadka - vodka and squash (whatever flavour available).

Is peach Concorde still a thing?

Friend of mine would just drink vodka with water as a mixer. Not even good vodka that might taste in some way palatable, the cheapest stuff in the shop.

I'm happy my teenage daughter and her mates show no interest in drinking, second year of uni we moved on to two bottles of wine for £5, I'd get white and my mate red and have a bottle each before heading out, sometimes he'd switch up bring a bottle of port, thought of necking a warm bottle of white wine makes me shudder. It was also peak time for schmirnof ice, reef and vk followed by a few aftershokz and applesourz

Double gin, in a pub that did 35ml measures and doubles for singles on the cooking spirits at happy hour, in a pint glass with lots of ice and a bottle of Hoopers Hooch.
The Goochy.
Tasted like the cloudy lemonade that was popular at the time. Got you spannered in a delightful way.
I used to neck one if I arrived late for a night out and needed to catch up.
NB - the name remained even after Hooper's Hooch was supplanted by Smirnoff Ice.

This is what everyone was drinking at bongos bingo in Liverpool a couple of months ago

Good on them

Yes I didn't know hooch still existed

Yeah it had a comeback and I was shocked to see a bottle with the the original graphics, I thought someone had brought out a vintage bottle

That last sentence was literally my intro to booze and was imbibed every weekend for that 1st year

I can't relate to any of this booze talk and certainly don't still live my life in a worryingly similar fashion.

JFC. In the US, Even with a drinking age of 21, we were never as desperate as to try anything like these recipes. Top marks for creativity. Those are profesional drunk drinks.

Posr Prohibition, yes. Pre-Prohibition, the U.S. was the home of the unwise drinks mix, to the extent that breakfast cocktails (often with milk as an ingredient) were a thing.
