I paid £40 on here

Yeah those are the ones I looked at last night - sufficiently scruffy to put me off tho.

Just rubbing it in eh!

So this is amazingly similar to my Crosscheck single speed!
Some comments if that’s ok (though I know you’ve ordered the s500):
- I have gravel kings sk, I like them, never had any issues, really versatile and do the job for the price. I will be fitting the ss soon.
- S500 - don’t like; weird ridge because they are just shifter levers without the paddle which is super uncomfortable. I have some cane creek levers ready to go on for the summer refresh and they feel so much nicer.
- The ritchey classic stem doesn’t actually match the bar and seatpost. It has a weird brushed finished. Weirdest choice ever by Ritchey. I’d suggest finding a different stem if you want colour match over brand match.

This is on the outside, right? Is annoying. You can mitigate it by fitting a short length of redundant gear outer cable under the bar tape.

Yes. It presses into my hand in all the wrong ways. I could try that but the cane creek also have the more classic look.

Ha, the perfect lever is still elusive. I’ll try the cable trick that @Cupcakes mentions.
I think the stem being silver is probably close enough for my needs, and I quite like the look of it generally (and I’m buying direct from the Ritchey distro so it makes sense to get it along with the other bits). -

Hell yeah, this is going to be great! I think the green frame and silver parts is going to look classy af. Just to weigh in on the tyre chat, I really like Gravelkings, I've had them in a few different variations/sizes on different bikes and thought they were comfy, quick and I hardly got any punctures. I wore out a pair with only 1 or 2 punctures in its life span. However, I replaced the worn out pair with some Terravail Ramparts which I prefer, they feel smoother and faster and I've yet to get a puncture. Would recommend either tbh! Most of my riding is road/commuting so probably pretty similar to your use case.

Also, you're giving me unhelpful ideas about replacing my Pompino with something a bit fancier, even though I love it and would shit myself locking anything this posh up.

It’s never getting locked up in public! Lol.
One interesting development is that the front Phil hub doesn’t actually appear to be a track hub. We’re just trying to figure which model it is exactly.
Going to cross reference dimensions with the ones on this sheet ( https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0378/1413/files/Hub_Dimensions.pdf?354 ) and try and figure out what it is exactly - shouldn’t really make a difference. Only discovered when the bolts I ordered (fortunately not genuine Phil ones) didn’t fit.
I don’t have the hubs to hand (they’re with my mate to be built up) but I suspect they’re actually a QR hub. -

My front Phil is qr and I believe it’s his touring one. I would take a pic but it’s at work at the minute.
(That’s the best I can find on my roll)

weird ridge
Hmm I use them and I never noticed this... Might need to investigate

Well I guess that solves it!
What are my options for Allen bolt skewers?
I have Halo on my muddy fox, but would be happy to splash out a bit more here.

I’m using a Halo one on mine, but only because I lock up the Kish at work, if in didn’t I’d using the best qr skewers I’ve found Hadley Ti, you can keep your Shimanos.

Just discovered this thread.
Shaping up nicely, although I'm going to throw my 2p in, and say sack of the Cantis and get some TRP 8.4.

They are stinking though, lol.

Here here. Nice things indeed.

Oh ffs.
Despite ringing to check that they were the silver ones, swinnerton have delivered these.
I might have to accept that getting the silver ones is impossible.

Considering how fussy I've been about the build, I'm going to continue being fussy and send back the SRAM levers and order the TRP RRL SR.

Yeah I had a cursory look on eBay and nothing going for spares or repairs, just bit the bullet on the SRAM ones that people seem to rate.
