It would only be comprehendible if they all thought they were already OTL.

First rule of a road race is that you have to complete the course.

I ain't saying it's right, just confused why so many would think they can do that.

A lot of bike riders are thick as mince.

One of the riders is belgian and his excuse is peer pressure. He didn't mean to do it and is dissapointed. :big-rolleyes:
“Onze renner heeft een fout gemaakt, dat beseft hij", klonk het vanmorgen kort bij de ploeg. "Hij was niet van plan om het te doen, maar is naar eigen zeggen gezwicht onder de groepsdruk. De ontgoocheling is heel groot bij hem.”

It did look like a lovely cordial moment. I definitely would’ve got involved. Bet it was a right laff.

After a disappointing day yesterday, where his GC ambitions went up in smoke, pesky VCL kid, Lukas Nerurkar, wins the fifth stage of the Baby Giro.

Sounds like Magnus Sheffield crashed on todays descent but nothing coming from any official channels. Hope he’s ok.

Giro Mader is reported to have crashed heavily too.
Fingers crossed that both escaped relatively unscathed.

On their twitter - he's abandoned but no further news on how he is.

Inner Ring reporting that Mader was airlifted to hospital after crashing into a ravine. Sheffield was involved in the same crash and was taken by ambulance to hospital.

I hope it’s not as serious as it first appears.

All the best to the crashed riders.
The very high number of marshals waving and whistling on the descent was however most impressive.

Official statement on Mader, doesn't sound good

Swiss TV are reporting he’s in a stable condition, so fingers crossed that is accurate.
-
• #45367
Sounds grim. The statement is he was laying motionless and unresponsive in the water at the bottom of the ravine. Sheffield, at least, walked up to the ambulance.

Only 26, so sad. Just a kid doing what he loves and what he was good at.
So this was right at the end of the stage? Maybe they didn't think they had to ride up it seeing as they were so far behind
