Some good riding this weekend.
Sunday
Monday
(I found this fantastic modernist concrete mural on a local church)
The forest is fantastic at the moment
Bike did well, but these tyres are crap in the mud. I think I may get a layback seatpost if I can find a nice on in 25.4mm
-
• #454
such a great bike, great pics too
-
• #455
I may suggest you to find a 25.4 Cannondale Save seatpost. Non that cheap, but the best performance and a decent second hand price for such an uncommon standard

• #456
or look ergopost?

• #457
Woah lush ride - which church ?

@Maj <3
@Marcootsee Way ahead of you, there are a few on my watch list already. The Kalloy Uno one would work too as its just a copy of a Nitto post.
@young_gun Probably a bit too fancy for this bike, but thanks

Oh smashing, shoot me a message about how much you want. I wasnt specifically after a carbon, but maybe I should....

Swapped my flat bars out for some JK mid-rise; would really recommend for other tall people much more comfortable.
I do note the product description says:
"If fitting to a Brompton that does NOT have a rear rack / larger easy wheels, you will most likely need to trim these down a little so they do not hit the floor when folding."Which is probably why my fold isnt really effected, as I also added a cheap ali-x rack, which makes the bike super stable when folded.

I've switched my stock rise bars for the JK (carbon) ones too and I couldn't be happier! Really a nice quality product, more so when combined with some ergonomic grips.
Lovely looking bike!

love the colourway of your brompton

I also added a cheap ali-x rack
Can I get a link for that please? Bike looks really good.

@Marcootsee @swedeee thanks - I'm really happy with it too.

Have a look around Ali-X as there are a lot of sellers with the same thing, sometimes a few quid cheaper than others. The rack itself weights very little, much less than the standard brompton one and is cheaper than the brompton ultralight.
The quality seems good, but I would bin off the wheels it comes with and buy real brompton easy wheels as they are lot better. I did have to bend the tab back (which I assume is meant to connect it to the mudguards if you want) up a bit to match the angle of the mudguard.I also added this extender -

As I found my bike would tip over on the tube some times, it makes the bike more stable when folded.Other things I've added are:
Bag QR pull - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004017270539.html
Clamp Springs - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004267354135.html
A light mount and the restrap handle (which means I can walk, carrying it at knee height rather than the ankle height which picking up by the saddle gives.None of which are earth shattering, but all do give minor quality of life improvements.
I did orignally think about converting this bike to 2 or 3 speed, but actually SS is proving to be perfect for me; I rode the 20km into work today with no problem at all.
Also many thanks to @cake for very kindly giving me a bag that matches the bike almost perfectly!

Thanks! I've been looking at this one for a while but was a bit concerned about the reviews as people said it wouldn't fit, I have no mudguards tho. I've also already ordered the wheel extender thingy.
Do the clamp springs keep the clamps straight? -

Again, use real easy wheels for the best results. It's a bit fiddly to fix but worth it imo.
Do the clamp springs keep the clamps straight
Correct. I did ponder swapping the clamps out for speed ones, but I'm not fast at folding yet so no point for the moment.

Local supermarket is is 5 min drive, 40 min walk or 12 min cycle. I got really fedup of having to drive when I wanted to a big shop so I bought this trailer a Carry Freedom model Y large, added a stand and box and now I dont have to.
Works perfectly, slightly odd sensation though as you can tell you have more mass, but it's not 'on the bike' so it doesn't effect you in the same way.

Was that the one that was recently for sale in these classifieds?
-
• #470
No I totally missed that, I got this ages ago but I got lost when we moved and I only just dug it out
-

-
• #473
cheers, those look nice. did you make them narrower?
-
• #474
I did not - I they were bang on width wise for me
-
• #475
Hey spotter, this is so nice. Can you tell me what the front rack/ decalleur/ bag are? VĂ©lo orange?
Lovely. Did you respace the rear end?
