  • 2 years in the making and it's finally done!

  • Absolutely magnificent! One of the most exotic Gazelle's I've seen. The colouring of the saddle clamp is a nice touch as well. Those vittoria's are 25s yeah?

  • Thumbs up emoticon.

  • Where did the tan walls go? Good to see it finished, great result!

  • I got rid of them last year, wasn't a fan. I have been riding on 43s for the 18months so going back to 25s just feel like rubber bands. Will try and squeeze in some 28s tan walls.

  • Will try and squeeze in some 28s

Pffft. Doubt they'll fit between the chainstays

  • God loves a trier, I think you're right, it will be too tight

  • I've done about 100 miles on this now. I recall my previous AA-Super Monostay was fairly twitchy with the SWB, but this one rides so sweet and spot on.

All the little niggles are ironed out, just need to fit a shorter clamp stem and maybe swapout the saddle as it's not very supportive.

Overall very pleased with how it turned out. It's definerly a suitable replacement from my previous Gazelle TVM, that was big shoes to fill.

  • Some lovely detail on that frame! How does it ride in comparison? For some reason I also love the gazelles, don’t know why but I’m drawn to them!!

  • It's rides as good as it looks. The rear Monostay just feels so solid at the rear. It feels like zero flex when charging out of the saddle

  • The Monostay is still going strong, swapped out the 120mm Cinelli Oyster for a 100mm Deda Murex, not the prettiest of stems, but very functional especially with the double clamp.

The DT homemade aero mount isn’t doing so well. The side barrel adjusters are too low, the cable should route via the top part of the tube.

My old man has just got a 3D printer, so I will knock something up in CAD this week, and see what I can yield.

  • If you're looking for a nicer looking stem I recommend a Nitto NTC-190DX. Nice finish, stiff and long steerer.

  • Thanks for the tip, but I always go for clamp / hinged quill stems

  • I am going to defend the non-monostay AA Super which is also not at all flexible at the top of the seat stays. Besides, if it was going to flex it would be while your weight was on it.

  • Prototype 3D printer part done, it didn’t pick up the barrel adjuster hole thread from the CAD model, so will need to do the drill tap size hole then manually tap it myself. I will also tweak the design to something more aesthetically pleasing.

  • Can’t you just swap the sides over so the cable does route in above the tube? (The bits that cover the bosses on the central ‘suntour’ mount)
