  • Sweet. Iโ€™m doing a stem at the moment, if it can look anywhere near that good, Iโ€™d be super stoked.

  • <3

I bet you will get there

  • So nice. Just curious (and if youโ€™re willing to share), how long does it take you to make a stem start to finish?

  • A day if I have all my ducks in a row.

This one probably took two days as I was being pretty anal about everything.

  • My daughter and I had a micro adventure this weekend.

  • We did mostly single track on the outbound leg and gravel roads on the return.

  • looks absolutely brilliant! ๐Ÿ™Œ

  • I think this defines living the dream

  • Precious.

  • You two must have a crazy bonding. Is she willing to cycle further with the new bike?

  • Hearteyemoji

  • Very wholesome content :)

  • What a lovely adventure. Reminds me of the bike rides my dad would take me and my sister on.

  • Yes much further. She did all of the 7.5km out on MTB trails with maybe four or five breaks. Most of those were for water or pushing up steep gradients. On the return leg the following day she did 5km before asking to ride on the cargo bike. Had i been on my MTB that would not have been an option and I feel she wouldn't have asked. I think it is important to never have a conflict about riding so I aleay allow her to jump on, but I try to bargain first promising her a nice snack or a push or something to get her to keep riding. Especially if I know we are hitting some downhil sections right after a technical part or an uphill.
It's hard to comment on bonding or where it came from as I have no other experience. But I don't feel she trusts me and find me tough but fair.

  • ...and thanks everyone!

I hoping to do a bigger tour with the entire fam later this summer. In that regard I need more kid capacity on the cargo bike. This let me to make this contraption for the top tube:

  • The saddle is a grown-up's Selle Italia oem Cube mtb something I have trimmed on the bandsaw and shaped on the sander. The clamp is something industrial I had knocking about in the workshop and the rail clamp is off an old seatpost.
Saddle will be recovered and I will repaint the rails.

  • Looks awesome as always, building some great memories there!

For the top tube saddle; we have attached a saddle in a similar way to our Bullitt top tube, biggest issue/improvement for the kid sitting there is some kind of foot rest. Overlooked this in the beginning but they are much more stable and comfortable with it.

I've also had to wrap the bars from center to the brake levers as they where "too icey" for holding on too. :)

  • Thx

She is able to stand up right now with her feet on the rack (green circle) and comfortably standover the top tube. We have done this several times on bailed rides but once she gets tired legs she'll want to sit and that has meant that I have had to provide a jumper to sit on which has then made shifting suck because of the cable routing via the top side of the top tube. I have now gone for full outer cable which is guided by the excellent frame bag.

If saddle is too high up for that to work I will make some foot pegs (purple line).

She loves the purple horns so I am not wrapping them until the autumn.

  • Still so much jealousy.

What are the rules on camping in Denmark? Are you wild camping or stopping in a local camp site?

  • This is an allowed wild site. But there is a loo which is nice when you have kids. There is no water tho so we brought that

  • It works
