• Was at a theme park and did the Ninja Warrior vertical wall.

After one jump I knew I’d had enough, but the chorus of “come on daddy” is very hard to resist.

I heard a pop and, while I could (barely) walk about, I was in a bad way - shock - very pale and felt quite sick.

Anyway, back home now and I’m not going to go to A&E for various reasons. Got it in a compression sock, raised, occasional ice pack. Not much swelling and doesn’t hurt while I’m still.

Any thoughts on a diagnosis? Whatever it is must be some form of hyperextension. As a 41 year old, I’m prepared for this to take on the long side of recovery. FML.

  • Just go to a&e to get it checked out, my wife fractured her foot slipping on a step and she's been wearing a boot, the fracture has completely healed but she's damaged some ligaments around her toes which might need surgery. The only way to find this out is with an mri (which she gets the results for next week). If it does need surgery it's a problem that could lead to a permanent disability if not corrected.

I'm not trying to scare you but not getting it seen by a doctor is never a good option, it might seem innocuous but you're better off losing a day at a&e to find out.
